I wonder if it will also run the original Xbox games? Sorta doubt it, but optimism.
Technically it should be able since the X360 can play most of the from the original Xbox.
Technically it should be able since the X360 can play most of the from the original Xbox.
IIRC it's emulated on 360 and that's why it can't run all original Xbox games.
Technically it should be able since the X360 can play most of the from the original Xbox.
I wonder if someone can patch in more backwards compatability. I'd love to see some of those games running in HD.
Lack of interest, I mean look at this chart. [t]http://i.imgur.com/zl10SZ0.jpg[/t]
That chart isn't really that useful, since there are older games and games that are XBOX360+PS3 exclusive such as Red Dead Redemption and the Skate games.
Technically it should be able since the X360 can play most of the from the original Xbox.
The 360 is only backwards compatible with about 100 games, and a lot of them are crap.
I'm so insanely excited for this but it still bothers me deeply that there's no OG Xbox emulator yet
My dick is so hard oh yes I can't wait to finally strap people in my lasso and place them on a train track
Maybe now I can play EDF 2025 at a decent framerate, here's to hoping that I can use this with 2 xbox controllers.
Cool the game looks just as I remember it! On a more serious note: It makes me happy to see that we finally getting emulators out for the old gen, we got the first PS3 Emulator able to run commercial games like half a year ago aswell, of course in a very early state aswell. Emulators are a nessecity to archive the generation for eternity, the systems will die over time, online services will fade to exist. A PS3 or XBox 360 isnt as rock solid as a Genesis or Snes, it has moving parts that will break over time, who knows how many Xboxes will still be able to run in 30 years.

I fucking love emulator developers, they are fucking wizards. REALLY excited to be able to play RDR and Skate 3 on PC.
Technically it should be able since the X360 can play most of the from the original Xbox.
The Xbox 360 emulated the original Xbox using customized configs for each game. Running Xbox games on an Xbox 360 emulator would be two levels of emulation, and as cool as that sounds it would be absolutely unplayable on current hardware
Never thought I'd say this, but it's good to see Sonic 06 on PC. In all seriousness though, it sets a good precedent for future emulation of the 360. Just wondering, are people working on a PS3 emulator as well? Now that'd be a damn good thing.
Whats this about the renderer being broken? That looks like 1:1 emulation

But for now we have RPCS3 which the only commercial game it can run without issues is Sonic CD.
Lack of interest, I mean look at this chart. [t]http://i.imgur.com/zl10SZ0.jpg[/t]
The 360 had much better early days and got seriously winded after the release of the Kinect while the PS3 had a pretty difficult start notably due to the expensive console itself (remember "PS3 had no games ?"). Using this chart to prove anything but the latter is retarded because that's all it's good for.
I'm actually working on this as well! Here's Super Meat Boy running:
If we can emulate every Xbox 360 game at full speed, we can also emulate every Xbox game the 360's emulator supports, at more or less the same speed as the 360.
IIRC the 360 required a patch in order to run original games and even then it was sketchy.
IIRC the 360 required a patch in order to run original games and even then it was sketchy.
And why would a 360 emulator not use that patch just the same? Note I didn't say it would work as well as the original Xbox.
Never thought I'd say this, but it's good to see Sonic 06 on PC.
There is a bit more interesting news in terms of this (interesting stuff @ 3:00): Yep, some guy is working on sonic '06 remake using unity. Claims it's going to be 100% port without any bugs of the original game and with features which were cut from it.
How does it currently work? Will I be able to just toss in my iso files and run default.xex or are more steps needed?
You can run the default.xex file or PIRS/LIVE archives
How does it currently work? Will I be able to just toss in my iso files and run default.xex or are more steps needed?
It mounts iso's just fine so you don't even need to extract it.
all I could think of was "we are 100% black"
Me too
I'm so insanely excited for this but it still bothers me deeply that there's no OG Xbox emulator yet
If you wanna know why, its because their really arent many games that are worth playing on Xbox. Sure theirs those games we would all like to play again, but it doesnt really have the type of exclusives that make you really really want it, or better yet, make it. Its only big exclusives are Halo, both of which are on PC.
Lack of interest, I mean look at this chart. [t]http://i.imgur.com/zl10SZ0.jpg[/t]
i love this graph because it's so hilariously deceptive. Pull it back to 2005 and we will talk.
I wonder if we have to do anything like flash the BIOS, similar to the PS2 emulator.
I wonder if we have to do anything like flash the BIOS, similar to the PS2 emulator.
Uhhhh you don't have to do anything like that with the PS2 emulator.
Uhhhh you don't have to do anything like that with the PS2 emulator.
I think he means dump the bios
