The internet morally very gray, it has the best and the worst sides of humanity.
Humanity like the sun right now, gravity try to win over pressure, pressure try to win over gravity. Sooner or later humanity going to collapse or explode.

Go to sleep.
Huh?
Translation: Humanity is like the Sun, which has a constant struggle against gravity and the push of the energy it creates. Eventually, the Sun is going to bloat and die out, much like Humanity.

What, why? What did I do now, it almost 5 PM in the afternoon. :saddowns:

Also, their very culture is working against them, they don't like going to medical personnel because they wear white, which is viewed as a symbol of witchcraft in Africa.
Black labcoats.
World hunger solved.
^ What.
Elaborate.
Agnosticism is a fictional concept.
In terms of theism and atheism it is either one or the other.
Either you DO believe in a deity, theist.
Or you DON'T believe in a deity, atheist.
It doesn't matter if you are "open to the possibility" or whatever you kids are calling it these days, if you do not BELIEVE you are an atheist.
There is no half-belief, you aren't a fucking philosophical Schrodringer's cat.
[editline]06:22PM[/editline]
Yes it does, it just means that one is unsure or open to the concept of God[s].
No.
Theist = one who believes in a deity.
Atheist = one who does not believe in a deity.
It is that simple. Belief is an absolute, there is no grey area. Either you have faith that a deity exists or you do not.
Agnostics are just pussies who do not understand what atheism implies.
[editline]06:22PM[/editline]
If you believe there is a God that is not specific and does not interfere in this world, or that the God that created the universe has left and/or died, you are a deist. Which is a subset of theism.
[editline]06:24PM[/editline]
Agnosticism is complete and utter fiction. It is to atheists as "African American" is to black people.
Logical rant
Golden age, yeah, we should really work on that, not semantics about what label to put on your religion/lack thereof.

Agnosticism isn't half-belief. It's saying "I cannot know whether a deity exists, and neither can you."
You can also be an agnostic theist or an agnostic atheist, since agnosticism does not forbid belief in a deity.

No. That is stupid.
Atheism does not say "I know with 100% certainty that God does not exist."
Atheism is "There is neither legitimate evidence nor rational or practical reason to believe in the supernatural."
Atheists subscribe to the philosophy of acceptance of scientific fact. If it cannot be quantified via empirical testing and evidence, it is not accepted as fact. This is a complete contradiction to humoring the notion of a God without proper reason to. If Jesus H Christ himself came down from the heavens and said "Nigga Im real" then atheists would say "Yes, we can see this and we accept this."
Until such a point Jesus H Christ is not the accepted reality.
Agnostics are just too pussy to come out of the closet and admit they are atheists.
[editline]06:36PM[/editline]
It's cool how you call yourself a word that you do not understand FYI
[editline]06:37PM[/editline]
I think that Blackness refers to how well you can see in the dark so by my definition I am Black.

You have enlightened me, so If I don't believe in god but may have some sort of belief for the afterlife or whatever, I can still be athiest? That's cool.
What does the H. stand for in Jesus H. Christ?
You have enlightened me, so If I don't believe in god but may have some sort of belief for the afterlife or whatever, I can still be athiest? That's cool.
Atheism refers specifically to the opposite of theism, defined as the belief in a deity. Whether or not divinity in the form of the afterlife constitutes theism relies entirely on what definition of deity you are using. In some respects any supernatural entity can be considered a deity simply in the fact that divinity is attributed to it.

Herbert.
To think 5 pages of Atheism got started by an idiotic OP.

Atheism is the opposite of theism. The rejection of deities, saying they do not exist. Agnosticism is exactly what you described as what atheism is. Some atheists believe in that saying, that would make them agnostics.
If Jesus came down from the heavens and proved to everyone he was real, then everyone would have to say that he exists, wouldn't they?
a-the-ist (n.): a person who denies or disbelieves the existence of a supreme being or beings.

ag-nos-tic(n.): a person who holds that the existence of the ultimate cause, as God, and the essential nature of things are unknown and unknowable, or that human knowledge is limited to experience.

What does the H. stand for in Jesus H. Christ?
Horatio, I like to think.
Maybe looking forward to a rapture is the best the majority can look to for a golden age.
Whether that rapture be nuclear or religious... or something else.
What you described, Noahh, can be considered Pantheism.
If Jesus came down from the heavens and proved to everyone he was real, then everyone would have to say that he exists, wouldn't they?
Jesus is not God.
Atheism is the opposite of theism. The rejection of deities, saying they do not exist
No. You are wrong.
Atheism is defined as a disbelief in divinity, not the belief of nonexistence.
Jesus is not God.
Holy Trinity and all that jazz.
How do all these threads devolve into an Atheism v. Theism war?
I'd admit that he exists, but I wouldn't worship him.
You are confusing practical, individual atheism with theoretical atheism.
So think about the progress we've made in the last 100 years.
just to name a few: We can make VIRTUAL WORLDS! that's right, VIRTUAL WORLDS on computers. We have the internet, people around the world can communicate and share photos, movies, etc. We made the CERN, learning more about how the universe came to be. Atheism has had a huge upspring, people being FREE THINKERS!
think about it guys.
And were the destroying the environment faster than ever! Yep, it sure is golden.
How are we irreversibly destroying the environment?
And were the destroying the environment faster than ever! Yep, it sure is golden.
Environmental change is really only going to effect poorer countries.
I often find myself wondering at this.
