I would've been perfect in the 1950's, THAT was a Golden Age.

I think the issue here is that people are being nostalgic and viewing the past/present through rose-tinted lenses. A golden age is never accepted until after it's passed and things have changed for the worse.
Of course, this thread presents a lot of very valid reasons as to why a global golden age isn't now, and probably never will be.

Well, I agree only insofar that this perfect world has all people's material desires fulfilled constantly. Then there would be no economic system as there'd be no need to allocate resources.
