You still haven't answered my question.
Everyone is striving for something, to outcompete someone, it's sort of like a sport, if everyone is equal at the end, why play? Capitalism ensures everyone does their best otherwise they fall behind.
Now, can you tell me why Socialism is the perfect system? And don't say it as in, "Because poor people aren't exploited" please.
So think about the progress we've made in the last 100 years.
just to name a few: We can make VIRTUAL WORLDS! that's right, VIRTUAL WORLDS on computers. We have the internet, people around the world can communicate and share photos, movies, etc. We made the CERN, learning more about how the universe came to be. Atheism has had a huge upspring, people being FREE THINKERS!
think about it guys.
You're just a (probably) 12 to 14 year old kid, your parents are either catholics or christians. You probably don't know the name of the streets within 3 block radius from your house, much less the condition of the world beyond your country. And you think it's cool and "rebellious" to go around announcing to the E-World you're an atheist, yet lack the balls to tell anyone in real life. Having free thinkers doesn't mean jack shit in the model of any "golden age".
Every time you blink, someone else has died. If your family owns a refrigerator, you are among the small fraction of human beings who own the worlds collective wealth. Thank your lucky stars you were born wherever the hell you are instead of Africa or any of the other shit holes in the world.
Please, threads like these aren't going to make people suck your dick at how enlightened you are, so stop trying.

If people fall behind, there's conflict. A perfect world has no conflicts.
If people fall behind, there's conflict. A perfect world has no conflicts.
Not necessarily, the lack of conflict causes stagnation, think of conflict as a sort of spark.
Well the average person definitely owns more things and makes more money than say, 100 years ago. So in a Carnegie-esque sense the quality of life is improving. But with overpopulation, climate change, war, et cetera...many third world countries are royally fucked.
We can't control climate change and we haven't really done anything to trigger it. It's a stupid thing to put climate change up there with war and over-population. That's like saying lightning storms are the cause of all the world's problems.
We can't control climate change and we haven't really done anything to trigger it.
Doesn't matter, it's still a big problem.
It's not a big problem at all.
brb gonna go shit a gold brick then brush my teeth with it cause i gots the good life
fuck africa they dont got shit
they got culture
It's not a big problem at all.
Tell that to the population of Bangladesh.
they got culture
The very culture that is keeping them poor and uneducated.
Oh well. They still shouldn't be discarded.
Not if someone launches this shit.

If a culture can't sustain itself, the laws of nature say that it should not exist.
Appeal to nature is a great thing
Appeal to nature is a great thing
The nature of their culture suggests Tribal rule, how are we supposed to make Africa industrialized if everyone lives in their own little tribe?
I don't want to sound like a Debbie downer, but we're going to be fucked really soon. We are using so much oil there is no use in being optimistic about alternative fuel, there's nothing that will be big enough to replace the oil we use. The future will be relatively similar to the dark ages (again, not trying to sound depressing) but we're going to be living in small communities, no more massive shipping around the world, people will be raising and growing their own food to distribute very locally.

I'm not trying to make a case for a golden age, but you're overlooking the fact that some of the smartest people in the world are working on the impending energy crisis involving fossil fuels, day and night. If anything puts us into a new dark age, it definitely won't be a transportation issue caused by the lack of fossil fuels. Personally, I'm thinking nuclear winter or other massive cataclysm.
Two days ago, I saw a vehicle that would haul that tanker. You want to get out of here? You talk to me.

Do you think you're the only one that's suffered? We've all been through it in here. But we haven't given up. We're still human beings, with dignity. But you? You're out there with the garbage. You're NOTHING.
Op did not grow up in the 90's
im willing to doubt that.
the significant leap in general development, technologically, socially etc etc is staggering when compared to any other point in the past, up until this point it was mere baby steps, but lately it's been leaps and bounds.
even if those bounds increase exponentially, this time we are in will be at least somewhat if not greatly remembered and respected throughout our remaining history.
im not saying everything is like the fuckin jetsons. it's a fairly subtle thing as the world is going to be portrayed as a shitty place because it sells better than optimism. but rest assured we're living in the crux of human history.
You are stupid.
The people in the 1500s said the exact same things as you did. They laughed at the 1400s lack of technology. They though that the world wouldn't ever advancemuch further than it curently was.
Then the 1600ers said the same thing about the 1500ers.

As I said, the only way it would be perfect is if resources were essentially infinite and everyone had everything they wanted, but then any economic system would be useless.

I think Humanity would also pretty much die out with the lack of motivation to live.
I think Humanity would also pretty much die out with the lack of motivation to live.
Why would there be no motivation to live?
Everyone wants more for themselves, but it's useless if there's no desire to use what you have once you have it.

I... Well...
Fuck it, I'm off for the night, my brain's fried.

I hope you realize most countries in Africa are in huge debts due to the western countries and that is what's keeping them poor (and will for a long time)
There's a multitude of things holding African countries back, it's not even worth going into. They have very little chance to survive either way.
