Let's hope it looks like it's being advertised this time. They can't take out the entire lighting system 3 days before release like they did with DS2.

It looks like its running on the same engine as Bloodborne and graphically looks like its on the same level so I'm not expecting much scaling back.
It wasn't shitty but in retrospect it's pretty easy to tell it was made by the B-team.
B team wasn't the issue, it's that they originally had a much larger and more innovative game that was drastically pared down and went from entirely free-roam to regular linear levels. hence why Earthen Peak ---> Iron Keep is just a straight corridor instead of the wide open no man's land with the manikins like in the trailers

considering the whole game from start to finish was basically a jigsaw with pieces missing i think they did a pretty admirable job.

There is still no real time lighting when the character walks near light sources
I miss the saturated colours from DS1 mostly.
Hell yes, this is what I always thought DS2 was missing. The huge atmosphere, massive enemies that make you think it's an impossible challenge.
What Dark Souls 2 was actually missing was Hidetaka Miyazaki, he wasn't the director for the game which is why it suffered, in my opinion.
This might be good. That boss is already 100x cooler than anything in dark souls 2.

I STILL have no idea what those ghost things are! A revamped design to the Humanity enemies from the DS1 DLC? An enemy that was cut from the final release? A pointless inclusion much like the area with the giant whirlpool?
i loved this sneak peek but holy shit
this guy was playing like he had a trainer on, kept getting hit by the easy stuff.

actually it looks alot how like I play.
I eat the easy shit but end up making incredible last-millisecond dodges when they really matter.
It was a okay game I wouldn't call it amazing at all.
I just never got that rush that Dark Souls gave me when I beat a boss
as someone who likes dark souls 1 infinitely more than 2, soloing the mirror knight and killing the FUCKING DARKLURKER were incredible, dark souls 1 levels of satisfying

More like the ambitious open world plans were cut halfway through development and they had to cobble the levels together into something resembling a game in time for release. I don't know if the specific events are public yet, but I doubt Miyazaki could have fixed it any better.
SotFS fixed most issues I had with the game, personally.
