Like the ones your grandparents used to eat? Nope. We're ok. We don't eat those anymore.
Also, if you love being such a self centred European, why bother being in the EU. You know that being in the UE means you actually have to help other countries in need as much as they would help yours according to your country needs. You may think blankets and canned food are the most trivial thing. Well yes, they are now. But back then it was the easiest and fastest way to have food delivered to those in need. Also, back then canned food was very popular. Throughout Europe there wasn't a country without a canned food factory. Because of the war and all those problems, it was the best way to have food preserved when people needed food to last long.
Also we've always had our borders open to your people and your students, our universities are way better than yours despite our current condition, we're the European country that buys the most number of cell phones and most of them are Finnish. Also throughout history, Portugal helped a lot of countries in need, like Timor and we never waged unnecessary comments to other countries.
Your leaders know this and know that this is suppose to be a comunity, therefore they were diplomatic enough to lend us money. Money that we didn't even beg for.
So what's your excuse?

Sim, isso é verdade. Já estive no nordeste Brasileiro, em Fortaleza e Natal e vi miséria como nunca vi em Portugal...
Os contrastes são muito fortes, por isso ao mesmo tempo você vê pobreza junto com alto padrão. É bem esquisito, se você for para São Paulo-SP, no bairro do Morumbi por exemplo, verá um prédio de alto padrão e logo depois do muro um favelão que se estende por grande parte do bairro.
Existe um fosso maior entre os Muito Ricos e Muito Pobres, nesse caso.
