Yes but obviously they don't care since they don't make updates based on what users want
Everyone thinks this.
It is fact.
im fine with every facet of youtube except viacom being able to take down basically anything they please
I had a mass effect 2 video removed by viacom, said they owned audio/visual content. Wasn't aware viacom were a game developer
You probably had Disney music playing in the background.
Viacom is a huge conglomerate, they own so much shit dude, there's a million possibilities for things you possibly copied.
I hate when people complain about "viacommies" and other companies taking down their copy written movies and songs, it's their legal right.
Just because it annoys you and isn't convenient doesn't make it illegal or wrong.

no it was straight gameplay, recorded, rendered, uploaded
there was nothing in the video that didnt have to do with mass effect 2

i re-upped it after it got taken down but that youtube profile is banned now
it's just the fact that they did it that bothers me
Isn't this a copy/paste? I'm pretty sure I've read this EXACT post a month weeks ago...
there are ways to fight false positives, it's just not usually worth the fight.

ya fighting the power got me suspended indefinitely
You probably went about it the wrong way.

no way
Its getting worse, now subscriptions are all I use there.
Youtube has been steadily going downhill since just after Google bought it.
I signed up for YouTube back in 2006. I remember the classic layout like it was yesterday.

there's the cause, or at least a summary of everything wrong with youtube.
I like Youtube for what it is. They're very user friendly in my experiences and I've uploaded a lot of stuff.
I like that they keep things changing around and updated.
I don't like the advertisements that inhibit viewing videos, I don't so much mind the ones on the side and such and don't mind when people are partners. It just means they get tons of views and have a solid fanbase (Fuck Fred though >_>) and can make money off of doing what they do.
I don't know... I wouldn't call it "going downhill," just becoming over commercialized perhaps. The WMG and Viacom crap is stupid. They own far too much stuff for it to be fair and they're gaining free exposure for fuck's sake.
All popular websites have their ups and downs, Youtube just happened to make it big and media corporations took notice. =\

I'm aware of adblock. I don't find the ads are a big enough deal to block though.
I would like it if HTML5 took over Flash. That plug-in crashes for me all the time and uses up a ton of my resources. More so, I'd like it if there was a setting to have Youtube run in HTML5.
I can't even see some videos because I don't live in America... stupid viacom and their racism kind of thing

ABP is just about the easiest thing to use, and it works great. If you're using firefox and not using ABP you're making a poor choice.
Youtube has been going downhill for a loooooooong time.
They give us a decent free website, stop crying when they put ads and shit on it.
ABP is just about the easiest thing to use, and it works great. If you're using firefox and not using ABP you're making a poor choice.
It's also great for blocking 30 second ads on a 5 second video. :v:
Some good things have also been added: HD videos, view stats, the comment system still sucks though...
Ever since they went copyright batshit, youtube became even worse. Before then, the immense number of immature kids made it shit. Every time I upload a demonstration video of scripts i'm writing, I either have to go with no audio or file a dispute.
Yes it is going downhill.
I dont really care I just watch videos
I've been since 07, never really noticed anything bad.
