Forgotten Kane: Resident Shit Expert
Who wants to but Kane a title?
Raptor, would you ever consider getting another emu so Gerry isn't always by himself? Or would you not be able to get another because Gerry would be territorial.
Emus are very expensive because of all the work needed to get the eggs to hatch, typical rate for Emus is to add $100 every week that they're alive until you reach $600-$1000. I've already spent about $300 on Gerry, I can't afford to get him a buddy even if I could find one, Emus aren't exactly a surplus where I live. I wanted to get three eggs originally but then if all three hatched and lived that would have been a bit too much to deal with on my property, two was the maximum I wanted to have. Even though I can't have him with me every moment I still spend a lot of time with him so he spends very little time alone.
Let's start up a donation fund for Gerry to get a younger brother/sister. Kidding, kidding! Yeah, that egg hatching sounds really difficult. I'd be afraid to screw it all up and kill them accidentally.

Gerry is so adorable! He looks like he's growing quite fast too.

I feel like you should get a title just for this. Because even though it's been weeks, you still own the cutest, most amazing, post-dinosaur-era-dinosaur thing in the world.
i vote we all take up knitting so we can make Gerry woven top hats, shirts, and pocket watches!

check out that shadow boxing, like lightning strikes it is
Does she always act like that?
He just gets excited and starts jumping and rolling around. I brought a big ball bearing in from my shop and he loves to chase it around the room, if there are two things that Emus love it's shiny things and fast things and he'll chase it around and jump over it till he wears himself out. I got a small flashlight with a short lanyard on it he likes to chase when I roll it across the carpet, then he grabs the lanyard and throws the flashlight around. that is exactly the kind of thing we need videos of! that sounds just too damn awesome!

so, are you going to keep it when it's all grown up?
Yes, I don't ditch animals when they get big, I know how big he's going to get and am already prepared for when he does get fully grown. As I said earlier, I don't impulse buy animals.

A week older and 2 inches/5 cm taller than last week. His legs must be sore, you should give him a little birdie massage
