Nah, not interested in Mammals, just Archosaurs and Lacertilians.
no fucking way, this is just so damn priceless!!!
Yes, that's her favorite oven mit, and no I did not put her in there and roll her over myself.
One day when she was about 2 weeks old we were taking her somewhere in the car and she got bored and I couldn't keep her in my lap anymore so I grabbed that red oven mit off the back seat and slipped it over her head and she instantly crawled inside and went to sleep. At the time she could climb all the way in and curl up at the end of the mit, now she can only fit her head and shoulders in.
She always sleeps with the thing too, and if I take it out of her bed she'll go find it and carry it back in her mouth.
the lizard's badass. his color scheme is awesome! if you want i got cool skins for lizards you can download if you're tired of the generic default skin!

Who knew a lizard could be so hilarious. Have any other exotic pets?
how about some videos of him?
Not much to see right now, I can get him to dance occasionally but he spends most of his time pacing his cage and the rest sleeping in my lap. I'll tell you though, one Emu is a lot louder than two..
I'd take him outside again today for a bit but while it was calm and sunny yesterday, today it's extremely windy and snowing.

Yes, she's converted a lot of people who were once afraid of lizards. She's really just a scaly cat.
You still have to keep in mind that she is a lizard though, she is extremely intelligent and loves to be held and pet but if she finds a smell that grabs her attention she'll lock on to it and forget that hand is attached to you and go after it but thankfully she doesn't lunge for anything.
I've had her for 8 years now and I can read her body language and correct a bad behavior before it happens. Putting a hand over her head or picking her up snaps her out of it.
These are the only two I have though.

What are Tegus and Emus like for shitting?
I've got to stop looking at this thread. I'm going to die of a cuteness overdose if I'm not careful.
holy shit emus are cute
oh god, OH GOD!
its like he wants to take the towels and wrap himself in them but he cant because he doesn't have arms, so he just kind of throws himself into them and rolls around, oh man that's so damn cute!
Do you have any videos of the little guy? you should set up a live stream of your tegu and emu, just put a camera in their general direction! :D
Fuck man you should make regular livestreams with that little bird and that big lizard, both are just adorable
I had an Emu peck at me through the window of my car. Scary shit.

its like he doesnt have any bones
I want to fill my house with baby emu
That might not be the best idea, be walking around in a hazmat suit before the end of the day.
what's it eat
It's a mixture of Chicken Brooder/Layer, unmedicated Chick Starter and Rabbit Feed. The Chicken Brooder and Rabbit Feed come as pellets so I grind them up in a blender till they're about the same consistency as the Chick Starter.

It's a carefully calculated diet to ensure he gets enough but not too much protein and calcium. Once he's 6 months old I'll start moving him to the pellet feed and he won't need the chick starter anymore.
There is a commercial Emu feed but it's expensive and hard to find, my feed mix is almost exactly the same nutritionally, all within a half percent of the commercial feed.
