I got a D- (I know a D is not failing but my Mom wont listen) on my report card. So my mother goes out to the store and buys me the 200 dollar famous system for teaching Spanish, Rosetta stone for Latin America. Now i was shocked when she brought it to me. I opened it up and used for for a few hours then it just got boring.
So Facepunch should i keep using Rosetta stone? I learned a lot like
Que es esto?
Quien mujer lleva?
And stuff like that.
If you really learned a lot, then why would you consider quitting?
The spanish is very easy. French is hard for me...?
I don't do good at spanish, I really don't understand it. I think every teacher at my school sucks or something
That or you're just generally shit at learning languages like I am.
My father knows 6 languages while I barley passed Spanish last year.
I have more of an ear for music, maybe you know other things.
Rosetta Stone's a great way to learn languages. I tried it once. I was speaking some minor Spanish in a few hours, but I never tried it since. I still can decipher words though, usually, because of it.
Rosetta Stone rocks man! If I hadn't gotten bored and quit using it, because it was intolerably boring, I could've been fluent in Spanish in a matter of months! This may sound a bit hypocritical, because it is, but I would highly recommend continuing to study using Rosetta Stone. You don't have to power through hours of it each night, just devote half an hour or so a day going through it--or take it at a pace of about 1 unit a night, which takes about the same amount of time.
Learning another language is probably a very rewarding experience, and being multilingual opens up a lot of doors for your future.
Rosetta Stone sucks, your mother is a dumbass.
It hardly teaches the grammar of the languages, but instead focuses on vocabulary which only goes so far.
It does mix in some grammar lessons in the recent versions of the program, but it still is pretty shit in my honest opinion.
I tried to learn German with it with no experience in foreign languages. And I had no idea what conjungating was and I completely sucked.
I took 2 years of Spanish in high school, and I was amazing at it, and was really good. Formal classes are so much better.
I guess if you already understand that grammatical aspects of the language, the program can be good for strengthening it.
EDIT:
I love how I'm getting rated dumb.
I actually used the program for 2 different languages, I'm sure I have some where to speak.
D is "just getting by". You should really strive to be getting AT LEAST a C if its that difficult.
the Rosetta Stone has spanish now cool I thought it only had Egyptian and all... how did she drag it all the way to your house?
Quit playing video games/being on facepunch and study, god damn it.
Put in effort?

Depending on your location, you can usually find someone who speaks spanish, ask them for help.
Living in Texas, almost everyone speaks spanish here.
lol que?
Keep using it, I hear its the best language learning program out there.
She must love you. All I from my parents pass these years for Christmas was a pen
I got a D in Spanish when I was in high school and they wouldn't let me take Spanish II. Bastards.

¿Por qué los tienes en tus pantalones?
Letter grades? What kind of fake high school do you go to OP?
I've currently got a D- in Spanish because my teacher can't read my handwriting. :v:
I've debated bringing a label maker to school so my teachers stop bitching at me.
Your mom PAID for that overpriced pile? I feel sorry for your mom.
Letter grades? What kind of fake high school do you go to OP?
He could just be converting them. My friends at my school use the chart on their card, like 90-100% would be an A, A- < 95, A = 95, and A+ > 95.

The issue with that is that the values attributed to letter grades usually differ from region to region. On the other hand, percentages or GPAs or whatever are pretty standard between schooling systems.
OP, what percentage does a D- translate to where you're from? Somewhere in the 60s?
The only 2 languages I'll ever know are English and German. I don't currently know any German what so ever, but if I were to learn a secondary language that'd be it. I live in Canada and we are forced to learn fake french. The only words I remember are the extreme easy/first ones you learn, like bonjour.
Fake French.
:what:
But anyways, you sound like you suck at Spanish. Have fun.

That's funny, because your Spanish isn't all that great.

You should work on your french, that's full of mistakes.
So?
this isn't a good topic for a thread :saddowns:
Cymraeg yw iaith gorau yn y byd ac yn siarad mae'n swnio fel cerdd, Sbaen yw i Slayers tarw a Gigolos, os ydych yn meddwl yn wahanol, cau eich ceg a chadwch eich pen i fyny 'ch ass - comeone welshies... Reply !
Sorry, Rosetta Stone does not support dying/dead languages.
If all you are striving for is passing you won't do well in life.
Better then us up here in Canada.
French is a really difficult language to learn, but I still got a C trying my best.
just say por que to everything
i'm failing german 2
then again the teacher thinks teaching means "open the book to a page and do assignments"
I just finished a another lesson on Rosetta Stone and i got 98%
