fashion is fine and all but it is just far too vain for me to care about and i i sometimes get some pretty classist vibes from fashion police kind of people
If someone wants me to blow a whole paycheck on something that isn't a suit that I will wear for years and years then I tell them to get fucked.
But this is equaly bad. Don't weat cargo pants unless you're a 40+ year old dad on camping vacation.
What exactly is wrong with cargo pants, beyond the side pockets looking goofy most of the time? It's too hot to wear any kind of long pants for more than half the year, and shorts are basically limited to gym shorts - ridiculous outside a gym - cargo pants, annnnd cargo pants without the side pockets.
I know that criticizing cargo pants on FP is hot waters. I don't know. I only know that it doesn't go with anyone.

jesus christ just wear a standard long sleeve shirt with sleeves rolled up and slim fit jeans with some random shoes and you're set
i don't understand how someone could not want to maintain a good personal image
i don't understand how someone could not want to maintain a good personal image
it's a video game forum
tbh i dont understand why some people wear combat boots
i wonder how many girls you pull
I like how that's the only thing that matters with your outward appearance
the real truth behind fashion is that if you look good naked, you'll look alright wearing pretty much anything
fuck
I like how that's the only thing that matters with your outward appearance
i mean, yeah? lean and clean is pretty in with most young women right now so that's why modern men's fashion follows that route
i mean, yeah? lean and clean is pretty in with most young women right now so that's why modern men's fashion follows that route
No, I mean that it's only important to look good so you can sleep with someone, as opposed to, y'know, having a good impression with employers/customers, showing someone that you care about your hygiene/appearance, or other things that matter the usual 99% of someone's life.
the real truth behind fashion is that if you look good naked, you'll look alright wearing pretty much anything
jokes on you, i wear neutral colors i am untouchable

I agree completely with what you're saying but came in with the girl thing first
If someone wants me to blow a whole paycheck on something that isn't a suit that I will wear for years and years then I tell them to get fucked.
i view fashion as an artisan hobby like any other, regardless of its more personal and publicized nature. nobody normal expects a minimum wage call center clerk to wear designer jeans just like nobody expects one to own an original Francisco Goya print. but it's your money and if it makes you feel cooler to own either, where exactly is the problem? the main lesson is just don't be a dick about it wherever you fall on the issue. don't go in people's faces and call them cunts.
fashion is fine and all but it is just far too vain for me to care about and i i sometimes get some pretty classist vibes from fashion police kind of people
how often does that come entirely unprompted though? there is no advice in this thread or FULS or pretty much any fashion place that hasn't in some way been preceded by someone asking how they look. why would you post in r/mfa if you didn't care at all what their response is? why would you ask FULS if your running shoes and hoodie look cool if you don't care what they say or what alternatives they could offer or even just their general opinion? hell, why would you even read about fashion if you already think everyone involved with it is a pompous money-wasting freak? the only thing more insecure than obsessing over how you look is seeking out the people who do just to tell them how much better you are than them, especially if all you expect is for everyone to agree with you. if you want to be involved in fashion then you need to be willing to listen to and take advice, otherwise the whole thing falls apart and you've just wasted everyone's time, most of all yours.

So when did different fashions all merge into one JoJo-esque fashionista thing? Last I checked there were several different types, each with their pros and cons. Now it just looks like some wanker ran through his closet, blindfolded, and threw on random articles of clothing.
cargo pants and a flame t-shirt is the pinnacle of fashion
don't forget your socks and sandals
Think about it then, if we're going more with things besides girls. If you're at a job fair at your college thats even somewhat casual, what looks better to a company looking for professional candidates (especially considering HR types run these fairs anyways): someone wearing generic cargo pants and graphic tees, or someone that puts even an iota of effort into their appearance? Upping how you look can be literally as simple as wearing nicer fitting jeans or pants, a clean and simple pair of shoes (leather boots are great for how cozy they can be), and a pullover sweater. Its a super standard look, but it looks loads better than the other option Not to mention, at least for me, upping my appearance was a pretty nice self confidence boost. I just felt I looked better, because I did. I was such a terrible edgelord that I thought trying to dress nice was below me, looking nice belonged to people less intelligent than me since truly it was whats inside that counted. appearance is superficial. girls who couldn't see that weren't worth my time (oh, god). Cargo shorts, graphic tees, and completely unkempt hair were my standard routine. Because trying to look nice was pointless and not the sign of someone who was actually smart like me. god, I was a prick. Looks aren't everything. But they can make you feel better, and first impressions with employers, professors, people at career fairs are important. I've had a professor or two complement me for "looking professional" and nothing I do is like the tryhard "be unique" snowflake fashion from the video. I don't think its fair to demean someone for how they look or choosing to not do this, but it really really isn't that hard to do even a touch about your appearance. It shows others that you do care about how you look and your image, and the reasons for that don't have to be completely superficial at all.
cargo pants and a flame t-shirt is the pinnacle of fashion
Guy Fieri is the pinnacle of fashion.
I just wear normal shit: reasonably well fitting, if a little long jeans, a white or grey T-shirt of some description (I most of mine are pretty plain) and a coat that I like, usually a black zip-up hoodie with some white specks on it. Normie shit.
I just wear normal shit: reasonably well fitting, if a little long jeans, a white or grey T-shirt of some description, and a coat that I like, usually a black zip-up hoodie with some white specks on it. Normie shit.
which is still so much better than either going the special snowflake hardcore fashion route or just not trying at all
there is zero legitimate reason beyond elitism
they look dumb is reason enough unless you actually need to wear cargo pants for a good reason why would you it's like wearing those zip up shorts that turn into pants and thinking "fuckin elitism nice skinny jeans loser heh heh"
My typical wardrobe is just a slim fitting blank t-shirt and jeans, but I sometimes wish men's fashion had as much variation as women's without being a short term trend or just a dumb variation of something tried and true.

Wear whatever makes you feel confident in your appearance. Done. [editline]24th October 2015[/editline] I knew a shaggy dude that wore nothing but cargo shorts, loose tank tops and big dumb athletic shoes and high socks. He was charismatic enough to score more babes than most of the "clean and well-dressed" dudes I know. Appearance can help, but it matters less than you all seem to think.
it's like wearing those zip up shorts that turn into pants and thinking "fuckin elitism nice skinny jeans loser heh heh"
I like those pants. :worried: I've got a pair sitting in my closet from when I still went camping. Incredible for camping and general outdoorsy stuff, though they end up looking fucking stupid outside of camp because of the weird seam where the pants separate. And since I ended up washing the pants more than the extensions, they ended up being two different colors; horrible military olive drab for the extensions, and faded olive drab on the pants.
I wear my coat as a cape sometimes because it gets to the point where It's too cold to not wear it but it's too warm that wearing it would make my arms sweat like a bitch so I get a bit of warmth but my arms are still open.
