Obviously?? If you wear mustard and grease stained clothes, no matter the brand or fashion they're gonna look bad; That's my point though, is that draugur is either intentionally or unintentionally implying you have to be "fashionable" to be clean; which isn't true.

no but being clean means you have some degree of awareness about yourself. which means you're at least a tiny bit fashionable

I can totally see how black grease dirty style clothes could become fashionable. They could even call it the "working man" line.

Where's all this passive aggressiveness coming from?
Isn't this not about cleanliness of clothes and more about what type of clothes people wear? Like this whole thread is about fashion, not cleanliness.
Also, it's hard and expensive to get well fitting jeans when you're going down a size every 2 months :s:.
Jeans aren't even expensive to get decent fitting ones. You can get fucking arizona jeans that fit decent if you try. Like fashion isn't expensive, "fashion" is expensive and no one even gives a fuck about those guys. It's literally don't be a giant walking meme or band poster/cringe lord and be clean. You people keep acting like it's so fucking hard but it really isn't.

No, I'm implying that being clean is part of fashion. If you're able to understand basic cleanliness, you're already somewhat fashionable. So to say "I don't obey any of this fashion stuff, who cares", is implying quite a bit.
Well then what the fuck do you wear Mr. Fashion Cop? More importantly who are you to tell me how my own clothes even fit me? You don't even know me. You aren't even me. How can you possibly know?

I wear jeans that fit me (boot cut doesn't fit because them going over the shoes is part of not fitting, they're too long, same with jeans that end up going up too far like in the video, they don't fit, that's wrong), so for me that's slims or skinny, some guys have big legs and they end up with normal straights, but so long as they're not baggy you're alright, I get the skinny hate, I really do, restricted leg movement when it happens with a pair is really uncomfortable, but that pair just doesn't fit right, too skinny for your body at that point. Well fitting white t-shirt for an undershirt, and then from there I have a variety of things I can do. I could wear just that t-shirt, a hooded jacket, button up (sometimes with the sleeves rolled because it's hot), a coloured t-shirt (depending on the fit you might not want to wear a white t- under it, but if the white t- is hidden then you're good. The purpose of the white t- is to extend the time you can wear the other shirts before having to wash them, it's like underwear in that sense, keeps your button ups from getting sweaty and gross, of course if the shirt stinks or gets stained after a day, oh well, in the laundry hamper it goes. Depending on the weather I'll wear a rain jacket, denim trucker, beanie, maybe a scarf in the winter but that depends on where you are because scarves aren't big everywhere for men.
Literally just dressing cleanly and non-offensively, that's it. Having an ugly body, bad hair, etc, don't even matter too much, like yeah you're going to be worse off in the looks department over all, but dressing in a good way does volumes for you. Helps you get jobs, gives you more social confidence, makes you more approachable in social situations.
What I hate more is that it's almost impossible to just find a nice sweater because hoodies are so in.
hoodies are in? the fuck are you talking about
why do people here get so angry about people caring about fashion
since I started giving a shit about it and actually dressing well my confidence has went through the roof
there's nothing wrong with judging people to some extent based on how they dress, well-dressed people are generally much more charismatic and socially competent. however they might not be able to fix your computer for you for free. find someone wearing, cargo pants, boot cut jeans and or a graphic tee for that
hoodies are in? the fuck are you talking about
I think he means hooded jackets instead of pull-overs. I've always used hoodie for both pull-overs and hooded jackets. Soft cloth jackets in general I guess would be the best way I have to explain that, I always thought of it the same way for the longest time because a jacket to me was something more on the winter jacket spectrum with water resistance and wind protection.

Pretty much all of that you could probably assemble pretty closely 50 years ago.
It's not exactly the "current trends".

Sure being clean might be part of being fashionable but to imply you're trying to being fashionable just because you clean yourself is like trying to say you're trying to be a politician because you talk to people.
I wear sweatpants all the time, and shirts that don't exactly fit and are usually too large, because I don't have any other option, I have no money for clothes and no ability to get them. When I can get clothes, the only place I can shop for it is Goodwill, and you're not exactly going to get the 100 percent best fit and fashion at Goodwill.
Hopefully, I can make this change soon. But this shit ain't my fault, it doesn't make me lazy, it makes me unfortunate. Do I dress like shit? Of course, and I'm not ashamed of that one bit, hell, I'll put it right out there like I'm proud of it. But I'm not about to have anyone call me trashy because I don't get to dress ~clean and decently~.
But no, better to just assume I'm some lazy, trashy douchebag, let's all judge a book by its cover

There's a problem with the term "fashion" being badly defined.
There's looking like somebody who wants to look in a way that will make onlookers mutter in astounded disbelief about that daring daring fashion master just entered the room.
There's looking like somebody who just wants to be inoffensive to their surroundings.
There's looking like somebody who either has no understanding or no regards for what others see them like, or can't do anything about it, for instance the homeless.
Some people talk about fashion in the sense of the first category, some in the sense of the first and second. Some people pretend that some factors from the first category should belong to the second. I am pretty sure that GAUA is talking about the first category.

While I'm not muscular, I am slim and toned all around. I find that Forever21 makes some of the comfiest basic clothing for me. I have about every color of this vneck they make, and they've lasted me years so far and are just as fucking soft as the day I bought them, it's like wearing a cloud. For like $4 a shirt you can't beat that and they look good with most body types. But then again I only started branching out my fashion tastes when I got into college, so I've still got a lot of improvements to make.
it takes me hours to shop for anything decent these days, the stores are literally full of trashy hipster shit, and clothes with weird accessories and strange design decisions to make them look "different". Sometimes I see a nice item of clothing and when I observe it closely I find some stupid thing, like shoulder and elbow pads on an elegant jacket (why?)

also i'm sorry but money is no excuse. i'm not exactly the richest guy around, almost all the clothes i have are 2-3 years old or more. but look around, order online, go to outlets and thrift shops, it's really not that hard.

Most of the shirts and pants I can find on their site are $30 at best. If he's shopping at goodwill exclusively I don't think that's really his price range, but I can't say that for sure since I haven't gone to goodwill in years.

They're not really normal leggings though, athletes generally wear compression tights that supposedly can increase blood flow through your muscles and help prevent muscle strain and fatigue by applying a constant pressure to them.
Of course, no-one's ever actually managed to prove that they work but lots of people use them anyway just in case they do.
If you dress in fucking scummy clothes, yes, I do think so. Dressing clean and decently is so fucking easy that it speaks volumes about the character of a person. Ever have that mate who's house is a fucking wreck with trash on the floors, maybe ash from smoking, alcohol bottles, shit like that? Dressing decently is like keeping your house clean, if you've got a fucking trash heap I'm going to judge the fuck out of you because you're too fucking lazy to clean. Laziness is not an attractive feature in any way. Like comfort ends where cleanliness begins. Did well fitting jeans and decently clean shirts kick your dog or something?
This is not a comparable analogy. Wearing loose tank tops and cargo pants is not to appearance what a crackhouse is to interior decorating. If we're talking about somebody who never showers, never shaves, never gets their hair cut, wears unwashed vomit-stained shirts, then we're in the same ball-park. But we're talking about bad, but inoffensive, fashion. Like, if somebody had a ugly lamp or a carpet that completely clashed with the drapes, that would be a comparable analogy. No it might not look good, but it's not living in squalor. It's hardly unreasonable to think better of somebody who puts time into their appearance, but to even suggest that cargo pants and loose tank tops are comparable to a trash heap in your house just wreaks of elitism.
What exactly is wrong with cargo pants, beyond the side pockets looking goofy most of the time?
It's too hot to wear any kind of long pants for more than half the year, and shorts are basically limited to gym shorts - ridiculous outside a gym - cargo pants, annnnd cargo pants without the side pockets.
cargo shorts do absolutely nothing for your body. they're baggy and, like you said, goofy looking most of the time. theyre not as horrible as most people say but definitely definitely avoid them if possible.
also there are more types of shorts than just cargos and gym shorts. just do a search for mens shorts and youll find plenty more than those
I'm sure I probably break a lot of fashion rules or whatever. I wear loose fit jeans, cargo shorts, jeans shorts, Hawaiian shirts, and hockey jerseys. Why? Because they're comfy as fuck and I don't give a shit about fashion.
and everyone else around you knows you dont give a shit as well. i get that it's edgy to be all "fuck society fuck fashion" but someones ability to dress says so much about them as a person.
and dude props for wanting to be comfy and all but i dont understand why people think dressing decently means being uncomfortable. clothes that fit well are super comfortable, and i guarantee if you tried on a pair of some tighter pants instead of the loose fit jeans you'd never go back.
ITT Fix Up! Look Sharp regulars surprised that they are on a gaming forum
I weat completely different clothes depending on what im doing, like I assume most sane people do.
Around the house I usually just wear athletic shorts and a hoodie.
If I go out, I wear a nice dress shirt and some slim jeans
If I'm working, usually normal jeans, cargo shorts, and a plaid button up shirt. The cargo shorts really help a lot because in production I usually have a bunch of shit I need in separate pockets.
Shorts usually don't work well for me, but in the summer I would even wear nice cargo shorts with a dress shirt. I also live in Vermont, which is probably the least-judgy state when it comes to clothing
Kohls is also a goldmine for good, cheap clothes. At least for me.
