In my opinion. Swiss army knives are shit and aren't usefull at all. Invest in a good survival knife and you won't be disappointed, it'll do all the things a "utility" knife will do, and better. You just can't cut through a tree with one of those tiny blades. "And it throws really well, watch..."
you just wont have pliers, screwdrivers, a saw, bottle opener, scissors, etc. all you will have is a highly functional cutting tool. which isn't what the OP is looking for imo.
You can't carry a 7'' tactical knife everywhere you go. Oh and Swiss knives got wood saws.

I've unscrewed screws with my knife, opened bottles, cut paper ect., cut wood. Genuine survival knives > swiss army knife.
Imagine the looks you would get if you pulled out a survival knife to cut an apple at work
Let me direct you to http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=786 These guys know everything about multi-tools.
As renowned as Victorinox is, i would rather use a Gerber or Leatherman anyday.
I've got a SOG toolclip. It works well enough; the blade is a real letdown, but the other tools work pretty great.

Gerber clutch, Minichamp if you want it as a keychain. Otherwise get a leatherman, pliers are just so fucking handy.
Wegner Vs. Victorinox? vs.
Wenger belongs to victorinox. The new swiss soldier knife is a good one, lacking a wine bottle opener though: http://www.victorinox.ch/index.cfm?page=607&lang=E
The new swiss soldier knife is a good one, lacking a wine bottle opener though
How often have you needed a wine bottle opener away from home / place where there isn't one. I did once and I just used a screw and pliers...
No tool gun? D:<
I think that picture was made back then when there was toolbow instead of toolgun.
I have a swiss-champ, had the most tools in the Victorinox range at the time. So far it has suited every job I've needed it for. If you're after something a bit more rugged with a lockable blade, go for a Work-champ, or a Leatherman. I've used a leatherman skeletool before and I'd recommend it.
I have some odd metal/wood knife that has a surprisingly large ammount of tools.
I think I'll go with the SwissChamp. I did some research, it's only $80 dollars and has a large amount of tools, and will fit in my pocket.
I bought a cheap nameless army knife off a 10kr store about 2 years, sharpened it once and I still use it.
