What is pizza exactly? When people refer to pizza they say things like "I want a slice of pizza" or "I want a large pizza pie" so if we use slice or pie to describe pizza, then what is the pizza? Riddle me that, Riddler.

I had a drunk talk with my friends the other day how I believed that humanity's greatest evolution was the ability to think in chances, that we are able to think about possible realities and depending on what it is, calculate the chances of it occurring. Now that calculation is not always perfect but the ability to have near infinite perspectives is very advantageous and got us to where we are today. But after reading the orgyofthewill link I feel like knowledge without action is useless knowledge, by taking advantage of human's ability to both think and act you fulfill something. Whether that something is good or bad is up in the air but its all we got when you think about it. Sure the past puts you in the present and there are tons of factors that effect you without you being able to do anything about em but it doesn't mean your future is stagnant. You have something that can be turned into something, something real. I think that's all that matters.

I think a lot of it is a load of shit to complain about because it can't and won't be changed.
I am genuinely growing more and more discontented with our society and the way things are handled/treated.
It's always a good thing to be discontent with society as that as a whole will eventually push people to improve it. Not being discontent means you're satisfied with how things are and don't want it to change and it'd be crazy for people to think the way things are going is perfect. Society does have a lot of issues and they're slowly being addressed but changing the minds and methods of interaction of millions of people is not something that can be done overnight, or even over the course of 20 years.
It's just so flawed and ridiculous. We have very, very greedy people in control.
This is how things are and will never change. People are by definition greedy, it's only a matter of how greedy people are.
We shouldn't even have to fight for things like rights, why can't humans just be free and allow nature to take its course as necessary?
Because if someone wants to be free, they're more than capable assuming they don't fuck around with other people. Laws are created not only to restrict people from wrongly affecting/manipulating others' lives but also for money. We fight for rights because the when given an inch, people will take a mile and that doesn't mean the government or society is excluded in this dynamic.
Things are just going downhill. We are in a society where people care more about themselves then the civilization as a whole. We live in a society where people are seeking physical substance over anything else.
I fail to see how things are going downhill. Over the course of a few generations, homosexuals and bisexuals are way more accepted in society and while we still have work to do, I'm sure it's FAR better than what it must have been like in the past. Alan Turing, for example, was a man who was very influential in computer science, and also worked in WW2 to break German ciphers. He was gay and was treated like absolute shit for it (and was given the choice of either chemical castration or being arrested, which led to his eventual decision to commit suicide), despite his achievements at the time. Hell, we used to have SLAVES only 150 years ago. I'm sorry but really, we're not going downhill and that's just complete bullshit. We may have some rough spots but from what history can tell, we're not cutting eachother's heads off and torching black people. And the system is in place for a very good reason. We have an economy, a government that while it is debatably terrible, it actually functions. If you thought managing a group project in school was hard, try managing 318 million people without shit truly hitting the fan. I'm sure you get food on the table every day? At the very least, you're in a far better scenario than starving children in Africa. You pay your bills and taxes, if you have a heart attack when you're walking around downtown you bet your ass someone's going to give a shit about you. You can thank your government for that, as well as the system.
Whether it’s to be considered “successful” or even to just be genuinely happy in this society you have to conform to an extent. For what? What is any of this for? Absolutely nothing. Once we pass, all of this conformity and worry will be forgotten and not worth it.
As long as you make enough to put food on the table for yourself at least, I doubt anyone really gives a shit about what you do. A common pattern among older people is that they tend to express how people don't actually think about you as much as you think they do, and most people really couldn't give a shit because they have better things to do than to spend their life judging you for your lack of 'accomplishments.' Yeah, some lifestyles are a complete waste of potential, and a lot of people could potentially have that impression when faced with whatever it is you choose to do, but if you're truly happy, why even give a fuck about them?
I see no point in following this corrupt system for my entire life all just for it to not matter once I’ve moved on from this life. Why have we become a society that strive for things that ultimately will not matter?
I'm glad you have this thought process of not wanting to conform to the system, because I truly think that this mentality will lead you to live an interesting life. Not that I have any real evidence or experience to support the idea, but hey, you control your life. If you would rather move to Thailand and do whatever the fuck you want instead of settle down, get married, have kids, and take them to soccer practice every Tuesday and Thursday, then I'd be willing to bet money that you won't wake up one day realizing you're late to your kids' soccer practice. It's all a choice.
We’ve become such a greedy civilization that we give little to no care about the earth, environment, or human lives any longer as a result.
Greedy? By default. That's how humans are. Growing up in a capitalist society, your options are the following: - Make money - Make money One of those two will allow you to do what you want, and despite the limited amount of options, that's how things are. Yeah it might suck but that's reality. No country has ever successfully become communist without any totalitarian style government or power, and to be honest, I'd much rather have our broken democracy than some dictator. A huge majority vote can change things here in the USA. In that scenario, you'd probably have to kill a few people. And yeah, the environment is going to shit but the process of changing everything takes time. It's not like we can change our methods of manufacturing and acquiring resources on the fly without any repercussions so it's something that will take a while. I don't see how we're not caring about human lives because if your neighbor swipes your lawnmower, you're not going to go chop his head off with an axe. You'd be much more likely to call the cops. And in the case that you're referring to war in other countries, there are always wars going on, and yeah maybe our government or whatever group should pull their head out of their ass and stop killing people, but it's probably not that simple. Otherwise it would have already been done.
We’ve lost touch with our roots and it genuinely upsets me that we’ve become something like this. As a civilization we have let things that should not control us begin controlling us. Sorry for the rant, but fuck it’s just been bothering me so much and it genuinely saddens me.
I don't see how we've lost touch with anything. If anything, we're moving towards a society where everyone is having to hold hands with each other and re-enforce the idea that everyone's perfect and special, which is the biggest load of shit. Some people are born smarter than others. Some are more physically capable. How you are born is a roll of the dice and lets face it, some people are far more useful in society than others. It's no one else's job to figure out where you belong or why you matter. Life is entirely what you make of it and if you spend it moping around about how shitty society is (I get that it's important to think about and be concerned about society, I do it too, probably more than most) nothing gets better.
I'm not gonna lie, I walked into those links expecting some motivational crap about life or some overly pessimistic view of how humans work, but found some very interesting bits of perspectives I've never considered which hold those little gold nuggets that can really help anyone out there looking for answers. You have something that can be turned into something, something real. I think that's all that matters.
I didn't really read a whole lot of those links but the 4chan one just annoyed me quite a bit. I get why people are disadvantaged, and it is tragic. Life isn't fair and while a lot of people will spend their time complaining, not many really seem to even try to do something about it. Yeah, a homeless guy might have issues interacting with others, and it makes it harder for him to find a job, but that doesn't mean it's impossible. You'd be surprised how many people will try to do something or do something halfway and will either quit or say it's too hard instead of, yes, manning the fuck up and doing it. If you have trouble, there are many critics out there who will probably know a thing or two which might make it easier. How many times do people ever actually ASK for feedback in this society or wonder what they could do to improve. It's laughable how many people don't give a shit, yet many tend to complain. Maybe I'm just narrowminded or I'm just an asshole but really. Before anyone can accept defeat or quit doing something, they should always ask/find ways to improve. Almost nothing comes to people naturally in all other aspects of life, jobs don't fall on people's laps, food doesn't just show up on the table, so why the hell do people think advice or methods of improving one's self will fall on their lap too? Going out, talking to people, doing things and getting feedback will all result in the betterment in one's self. Not just sitting around bitching about how shit isn't working as planned. Job interview and you don't know why you didn't get the job? Call them the fuck up and ask what you could do to improve for your own sake. No one does this shit. People like to blame society for their problems yet they don't realize that they themselves are a work in progress. Whether you want to believe god exists or not, he left you unfinished, and you'd be a goddamn fool to think you're perfect and don't need to work to improve yourself, and this applies to everyone. Honestly people need to get their heads out of their asses and realize that they need to improve themselves if they want to get anywhere in life, rather than bitch and moan about how life doesn't just happen like they want it to. [editline]10th May 2015[/editline]
By the same thread you can say that doing creative things, helping the environment, being nice to people is also meaningless because someday humanity will become extinct either from self destruction...
Oh my god how did I miss this post.
Gpt .5g of blueberry salvia yesterday. Smoked some out of my friends pipe last night, did nothing, was dark outside and couldn't really see how much I was using. Will be trying again later today after I've done some photography work. Paid £20 for .5g, seems kind've a ripoff to me but I guess I'll see how it goes later on.
Yeah this shit was bunk. Ended up doing a sizeable amount in one go, did nothing so I just poured out the rest of the bag into the bowl (probably like 0.3g) and took it in one go, got mild euphoria for like 30 seconds but I think that was from holding my breath more than the salvia. Complete waste of £20. Also been clean off everything but weed and cigarettes for 5 months now. Time's really gone by quickly as I didn't even realise, might have a k sesh in summer but that'll probably be it. Need to find a job.

I've been thinking about mushrooms. It's something I wanna try, and I'm thinking about picking my own ones. Mr Fox, do you pick your own, and where in our avlånga gurkland finns du? And the rest of you, do you pick or buy? :v:
Don't bother picking them unless you know exactly what you're doing, which you probably don't. Ingesting the wrong kind of mushroom can kill you as many are highly toxic and poisonous.
Friend wants to try 2C-B soon, anyone got any experience with it? I've never done any psychedelics before and I don't know if that one isn't a good ~starter~ one
It's alright. I've had people who like it and also people who felt like absolute shit. It's a huge body high and is slightly psychedelic from my experiences with it. Just don't take heavy doses and I'm sure it'll be fun (it's worth a shot but there are much better things out there IMO, although some users here absolutely love it).

I picked outside a nearby town and was fine. Made damn sure what I had was the right stuff though.
There are several websites and forums dedicated to the identification of Psilocybin Cubensis and other mushrooms in the Psilocybin family. I would personally never eat mushrooms I find in the wild, unless I am absolutely 110% sure exactly what it is, and even then, Psilocybin families can be cultivated quite easily and cheap.
TCB even if you did come off as rude it doesn't matter when people mistake the different kinds of mushroom and die every year. It'd be much better to come off as an asshole and potentially persuade someone not to make a decision that very well could kill them just because they want to get high It'd honestly be better to go huff white out or paint thinner at this point, and that's not saying much And yeah people can disagree but one wrong judgment call and you're dead. The risk is too high for being able to buy or cultivate your own
I smoked like ten times yesterday, that wax gives an insane body high and relaxs your mind but it's perfectly clearheaded too There's kind of a magic in the feeling that isn't captured in all indicas, very reminiscent of the Purple Cadillac I had a few months back I think I would feel a lot more comfortable smoking this on acid compared to insane anxiety inducing/mind bending sativas I really miss sitting in my room in dim lighting, chilling and listening to music, and trying to get as high as possible It's hard to get back to that feeling of standing up and watching my feet shrink down like they were 20 feet away
Anyone seen this? http://www.zdnet.com/article/tor-cloud-project-closes-its-doors/ Don't know what to make of it
