Yeah I can see the reason that is good but I dont like the way Banned User did it, however that isnt my buisness just a silly opinion.
I had to ban someone from one of my communities for being suicidal. We didnt mind the fact he had depression, in fact he was an alright kid when he wasnt /asking/ to be ridiculed (He broke a major rule of the server which is for people in provocative lifestyles not to flame it. Meaning if you like My Little Pony and you join my server with the name "Pinkie Pie <3" you will be kicked).
But once he threatened suicide several times we all made a decision to ban him so he would work on it. But we left him a giant post and I sent him a personal message stating [U]he can come back anytime if he is feeling better.[/U] That is the fault I find in Banned User's ban.
But hey the Mods here remind me of myself when I owned communities, fun yet the potential to flip a switch and take control. That is the quality of a good staff member.

That's fine, I just thought the ban was a bad idea because he might've needed another day to do more potentially beneficial venting on here with a hopefully clearer mind. With any luck he can sort this out on his own.

Be pissed, because what Memnoth needs is time [i]away[/i] from other drug users to get his head on straight, and get his life back in order. As long as he comes back level headed and in a better state of mind, I'll be more than happy to have him unbanned. The last thing anyone wants to deal with, especially mods, is potentially suicidal users. Their life is more important than being a member of Facepunch right now.

This is for his own benefit, I'd be much happier knowing he isn't going to kill himself because of a change on Facepunch, and also his drug habits.

I understand that now based on Orkel's post, I just jumped to the conclusion that you took action with little thought on the matter. I hope he can sort himself out without what support we might've provided. Sometimes it's the little things in these situations that can make the difference, y'know?

Make a refugee camp post and click the events icon/calendar under your username. I'd hoped he's ask specifically so I could go into detail as to why he was banned, however he has not made a thread so time will tell.

I understand your logic buddy, but I don't think a forum admin is in the position to make a judgement on a members behalf like that man. Maybe venting all over a forum anonymously was helping him calm down? I just think cases like this should be treated a bit more delicately. That guy was on here posting alot so it is clear that this forum is some sort of outlet for him.

Everyone needs to let Memnoth deal with his issues, we can give some slight council or advice, but in the long run his best benefit is to take the time to sort his own problems out himself. Preferably with the help of a professional.
