Some steady fucking hands that cameraman has.
It looks more like an anti-shake thing
Yes, the footage is stabilised. Either IS in the camera or post processed. That's one hell of a lightning strike though, I know you're meant to be safe in vehicles but I wouldn't have liked to be in that train all the same.
That was one serious flash, considering how much emf the camera picked up
youtube has built in video stabilizing for when videos are recorded by someone who's recently had 12 cups of coffee
youtube's anti-shake thing is super overzealous at times, like when something in the scene is moving around a lot, but not the camera/main portion of the scene. Good example is that squeaky frog video where the frog takes up most of the frame, so the software tracks its skin as a stable point rather than the ground
Some steady fucking hands that cameraman has.
If you ever see it randomly blurring in various directions, that's the original motion blur. When stabilized that "blur" doesn't point to anything. You can see the light trails go in many ways, that was the original motion blur.
Point was the guy didn't immediately fling the camera off in some other direction when it struck. Sure, he flinched but I think anyone would do that.
