I'd say there's a fair amount of "small government" advocates when it comes to US FPers, which I wouldn't consider to be center-right.
In general it seems there's a wide spectrum of political alignments on FP, even if the left is statistically more represented the right will be more vocal on certain issues.

Small government is more libertarian than inherently right wing though, although a lot of small government people also feel so economically which is right wing.
tl;dr the political spectrum is really limiting
