Year Zero is a fun album to listen from start to finish.
That album has no weak points, unlike some other albums by NIN.
Although I've grown out of almost all of nin's songs, the band will still have a special place in my heart for various reasons
Same, it makes me sad to think something I loved for so long isn't as important to me as it once was.
I'll still live NIN though.
As of right now, the big bands I've outgrown are Nirvana, RHCP, NIN, and Sublime (even though I really like to listen to some songs off 40 oz to Freedom every now and then)
I don't think I like them as much as I once did, but I still quite like TDS, Broken and The Fragile.
[editline]01:41AM[/editline]
And other random various things done by them.
I'm listening to Aphex Twin a lot less than I used to, but I still really enjoy his music.
[editline]06:46PM[/editline]
I really, really respect The Fragile and TDS and would still rank them up in my top albums of all time if I compile a list
My opinion hasn't changed. My interest has. I really have been into The Mars Volta for like a year now.
I remember going to The Wiltern theater. Their last show ever. It was and probably will remain the best concert I've ever been to.

Trent + Mariqueen project. Sounds really neat, willing to accept change if it is good.
I'm hoping those ? posts weren't related to this though. I really want new NIN content.

Oh wow. I hope that isn't a metaphor.

for lazy peoples.
[editline]11:31PM[/editline]
Maybe HTDA is a new nin album instead of a new group?
Also did anyone see the trailer for Tetsuo: The Bullet Man? It includes a new song by Trent.

A new Tetsuo and song from Trent!? Crazy!!
[editline]12:01AM[/editline]
You lied to me :(
But, why is this dude reversioning Tetsuo again? This one does look better but the original was just great.
I don't think the Angels and Slip things were supposed to actually connect together, but I'm sure the 'line going through peoples heads' thing is meant to be similar to each other.
Also the teaser sounds kinda neat, I can't wait to see what comes out of this.
I really liked the sample, and I think it's really silly if you guys try and connect The Slip and this project. The title is supposedly taken from Coil's first album, which is totally different than most recent NIN output.
I'm looking forward to seeing how this plays out.
I don't think anyone was trying to connect them. I think someone just found it funny. If you didn't get it, it's supposed to be Mariqueen holding [presumebly] Trent back
[sp]hopefully wifey was able to wrangle the lyric writing pen away from old roid-rage[/sp]
Maybe an announcement or release on May 5th? That was the day The Slip released 2 years ago. I remember that day like it was yesterday..
The Slip was released 2 years ago? wow
that album had 2 good songs on it. I'm gonna relisten just to verify.
I know, right. I can't believe it's been that long already.
Holy shit, Corona Radiata is really good. I really like the progression. Trent should make a whole album like this.
The Four of Us Are Dying is another good track. Restrained, instrumental, and it's got a great sound.
[editline]07:35PM[/editline]
I still haven't downloaded the Quake soundtrack. What does it sound like?
[editline]07:40PM[/editline]
Also, Starfuckers is the worst thing Trent has done in his entire career
[editline]07:40PM[/editline]
and it seems as if his ego won't allow him to recognize how terrible that song is
[editline]07:41PM[/editline]
Because there are three remixes of the song on things fall apart. It also is the only "miss" track on The Fragile for me
Quake is like an instrumental Broken.
And you're wrong about Starfuckers Inc. The remixes are god awful though. Well, I think atleast one is.
[editline]03:06AM[/editline]
Starfuckers is an awesome psuedo-electronic whatever. It sounds really dark and it's really cool for NIN
[editline]03:23AM[/editline]
!!!!
NIN apparently covered The Man Who Sold The World. Dunno if it'd be good, but certainly interesting.
Nirvana's cover was great.
I'm talking about the lyrics in starfuckers.
The 5:09 remix (the last one on TFA) absolutely tears up the original though. There are a lot of really good nin remixes.
[editline]08:30PM[/editline]
I thought quake was more ambient like the end of corona radiata, lol
[editline]08:31PM[/editline]
and the NIN cover of The Man Who Sold the World isn't too surprising because bowie toured with nin for a while.
