Yeah I don't understand those people that say that PHM (or you know any album) defined the generation or whatever... no, not really. It's just a good fun album chill out.
Yeah, I like PHM. But it wasn't anything ground breaking. And it certainly isn't flawlessly written. It has some of the cheesiest lyrics ever in it. "...now i'm slipping on the tears you made me cry!"

I never thought he's that good of a lyricist. He's a great musician though. Hit and miss with lyrics.
Yeah, for every "What if all the world you think you know is an elaborate dream?" you have a "Sweet smell of sunshine / I remember sometimes". (I do like I'm Looking Forward To Joining You, Finally don't get me wrong). But I'm not one to judge vocals on lyrics for the most part, I consider it another instrument for the most part, and in that regard Trent does well.
Lyrically I think The Downward Spiral is flawless. Year Zero is another one with fantastic lyrics. The rest of his albums for the most part though don't have that great of lyrics. But he has always made up for it in the music, except for maybe in With Teeth.

Usually that's a bad thing but NIN's always been fucking A. He was a pretty young lad at this point, so I think his lyrics are only going to be youthful as well. Sanctified has the sexist sounding beat ever. Dem wallpapers look sweet is right!

Did you, or anyone else buy the Remaster? GET DOWN MAKE LOVEEEEEE
Get Down Make Love was one of my favorites on any single of theirs. Shit is great.
NIN QUADRA-MONTHLY UPDATE: Golden Globe Award obtained for Best Original Soundtrack for The Social Network Marryqueen is with child Trent is scoring The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo New HTDA LP The Fragile Re-Master coming in spring thanks to Alan Moulder. ????
