Blame the parents. A kid can learn all about tolerance all day at school and it'll mean nothing if they go home to their alcoholic father yelling about the "fag couple that just moved in across the street"
Irony is my father is a bigoted supporter of the tea party and even I disagreed with him on many things as early as eight. I remember watching the news one day and they were talking about Republican candidate (this was Fox ironically) and when I saw him finish his speech I said aloud, "Republicans are stupid."

It took me a decade and a half to stop being a racist just because my dad was.
Some things did; but I questioned them as I started to head into adolescence, and I was seriously questioning the universe and the meaning of life at third grade which led me to lose faith in god, but I also became depressed as I continued to constantly question as I went into the fourth grade. I eventually just got over with my problems and tried to look at things with many different possible views. However I still thought Communism was evil until I was around 11, so fiscal policies rubbed off on me for a bit. Social not at all.

My mother is actually extremely liberal and I find a bit socialist and it's probably why I don't have the views my father did since when I was in preschool my mother was a teacher there. The school was even a christian one (must hurt my mother to know she doesn't believe in evolution and every single one of her children grew up to be atheist who do) yet I remember simple lessons taught there that seem to affect me to this day. But it's more less my own interpretations of said lessons that are why I hold the values I do; because many of them can be skewed by other personal views other have if told the same thing. When I was told two people can love each other no matter where they come from, everyone assumed a man and a woman, even I did at the time too, when I finally learned of homosexuality I had no problem at all just simply because of that, and even more so because when I asked people why they hated it, they sounded like the childish people who never listen at all when I was a kid.
Homosexuals piss me off. There's absolutely no logical reason for it, it's all about reproduction. In my experience, gays are mostly teenagers who want to try something new, or be "independent" or some shit. Homosexuality is destructive to the human species, but given how retarded some people are to actually BEING homosexual int he first place, that isn't the worst part about it. Now, I'm not saying they're bad people. Just confused and need to be brought up correctly.
How vile and disgusting. How can you say they 'need to be brought up correctly', implying that the parents are the ones making their children gay? Being gay is not trying something new, it's not a phase you go through, it's not being 'emo' or 'goth' or that rebellious part of your life. You are sickening.
It's not a decision.
It is to some.
To anyone who says sexuality is a choice: Could you just decide to be sexually attracted to whatever you want? Can you just say "Today I'm going to be sexually attracted to men, but tomorrow it's women again"?
Why when somebody will turn gays into non gays.
To anyone who says sexuality is a choice: Could you just decide to be sexually attracted to whatever you want? Can you just say "Today I'm going to be sexually attracted to men, but tomorrow it's women again"?
The point is moot whether it is a choice or not. Lets say it is a choice. So? Why does it bother you? And if it is a choice, who says being straight isn't? Again, Louis for the rescue-
Some things did; but I questioned them as I started to head into adolescence, and I was seriously questioning the universe and the meaning of life at third grade which led me to lose faith in god, but I also became depressed as I continued to constantly question as I went into the fourth grade. I'd like to trust society to teach kids about sexual preference however looking back over history we can clearly see this would work. How and what would teachers actually teach? Would it be a one lesson sort of deal? I mean its not like they need to teach the anatomy of a homosexual.
sometimes it is, some people choose to be what they're not just to be accepted.
I strongly disagree with this. If it's conscious decision, it's not really your sexuality. You cannot control which gender you find attractive.
I believe sexual orientation to be effected by psychological factors and not biological factors.
How are those not the same exactly
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biology_and_sexual_orientation Read. There is no sufficient proof to suggest that it is or is not genetics. It's a choice. Pedophiles use the same fucking excuse. "I was born this way!"
Just like you had a choice to be straight....? There is no hope for you. Thank god your banned.
Just like you had a choice to be straight....? There is no hope for you. Thank god your banned.
except its not a perma I'm seriously wondering if he's a troll.
Parent's should teach their children to question everything, authority, religion, racism, etcetc, because if your child doesn't question things, he's going to become ignorant and believe everything on TV.
Then the kid says "why should I question everything?" :v:
Then the kid says "why should I question everything?" :v:
well then smack the shit out of them until they question why your doing it Questioning authority is a logical MUST IMHO, if you don't question it, bad things.
well then smack the shit out of them until they question why your doing it Questioning authority is a logical MUST IMHO, if you don't question it, bad things.
If the kid's questioning authority, then why should he believe me when I say he should question authority? I'm the authority. what a conundrum
If the kid's questioning authority, then why should he believe me when I say he should question authority? I'm the authority. what a conundrum
damn thats a pretty big flaw in my logic there, but still, questioning certain authority is a must, as I said
damn thats a pretty big flaw in my logic there, but still, questioning certain authority is a must, as I said
"Question authority except when it's kind of self-evident that it's true" doesn't have the same ring
As correct as you may be by saying it isn't logical from a biological standpoint, homosexuality isn't as much of a choice as you think it is. See, homosexuality (last I've checked, could be outdated information) is largely caused by hormonal imbalance during puberty and such. Basically, you get too much of one hormone and not enough of the other, and your sexual preference changes. This is something that happens naturally and is existent in other creatures outside humanity, and although upbringing does have something to do with it, true homosexuality isn't a choice by any means. Also, homosexuality isn't really destructive. In fact, it's actually kind of a good thing. See, homosexual couples won't reproduce, which means they won't contribute to overpopulation. Supplementing that, if a homosexual male couple (and sometimes lesbian couples as well) wants a child, their only option is to adopt a child. This means there are less orphans in the social system, which means less money the government has to pay to that department and/or a more sufficient social system.
Of course, you have the CHOICE to reproduce.
Why? Why does something need to be "the norm" or done by most people for it to be considered okay?
I never said it wasn't.
I don't see public schools teaching classes about religion or life-styles, therefore I doubt they would teach about different sexualities.
The point is moot whether it is a choice or not. Lets say it is a choice. So? Why does it bother you? And if it is a choice, who says being straight isn't?
who is this genius man and why the fuck have I never heard of him before
he's louis c.k. and he's why white straight men think it's okay to say "fag" (that and south park).
It is to some.
Not really. A lot of sexual origination has to do with brain chemistry and genetics.
It is to some.
If they can choose then surely they're bisexual?
Homosexuality should just be another part of sex ed. Hell, maybe it'll even get rid of some of that stupid fucking homophobia in schools.
