I can pretty much guarantee anything not electronic won't hit as hard, so disregard metal/rock/whatever. If you want the real good shite, search for Sub Focus, and try to pick the really high quality samples. Insane bass.

Yes, just download in proper quality. MP3 actually works if they've got the bitrate maxed.

There is a vast difference between bass and real bass. I came across this track on youtube a while ago, surprisingly enough it demonstrates proper bass. It hits far harder (with a proper system) than other "bass" tracks.
