There was some hints from samsung that there will be a note 8.
well after looking it up even the normal S8 is larger than the note 5 (5.7" vs. 5.8"), and the s8+ is fucking huge at 6.2", so i'm not sure how they can even make the note 8 different other than giving it the s pen unless they do something crazy. ill probably still wait for it just because i actually use the s pen a lot.
I dropped it once from about 3 feet up onto a hard floor and the whole front screen of my S7 Edge is now cracked to shit.
The screen replacement costs £260 from Samsung.
i've dropped my note 5 onto concrete from chest height (6' tall, so about 4' high?) and it doesn't have any cracks other than an incredibly thin hairline crack on the back piece (which can be replaced for ~20usd). there are a few crunchy looking marks on the metal bezel, and the glass is coming off the adhesive at the top from where it impacted, but the actual screen real estate isnt compromised or cracked at all (although i do have a scratch on it from accidentally putting it in my pocket with my keys once).
hopefully the note 8 and s8 will be as durable as that. although the curved glass may impact that.
so what i got from the video is that the cameras are basically the same quality and will have no impact on the general user.
Wish new phones had sturdy frames instead of this "nothing but screen" thing they're pushing.
I watched it, nothing seemed wrong with the video or the guy? It was a pretty fast comparison type video. The screenspace does seem pretty appealing, but that's more of a thing that you don't really know you want until you have it, I guess.
