As much as I hate 3D movies, these glasses would of been cool to get but apparently theaters got them in limited quantity, I did see some kids with them. I know AMC theaters gave out Pod racing goggle glasses but Darth Maul is cooler

I don't know if you've seen this, but RedLetterMedia have released an audio commentary by Mr. Plinkett himself, for you to watch with the Phantom Menance
it's amazing

It's well worth the $2 if you want to chuck it on your ipod to watch at the cinema.
Just checked out Phantom Menace, and well, it's still Phantom Menace. No matter what re-release, anything like that, it's still the same movie, of course. However, it was nice to see a Star Wars movie in theatres, and that's what I'll be taking from each of these annual movies. The 3D was nice, but overall unnecessary. I just can't wait three years until we get to the good ones. Episode II will not be fun.

I say Episode II will be fun with the big battle scenes

That's because every frame will be den- FUCK YOU RICK!
I just finished watching Revenge of the sith and at the scene of Padme's funeral she's still pregnant :v:.

I got them.
Just got back from the theatre. It was just as I expected. A fun watch if you're going in with friends and the right attitude.

I love Depeche Mode!
Just got back from seeing it, the blu-ray change (CGI Yoda) was nice and felt more appropriate. The 3D was mostly unnecessary (the only real 3D part of it was the text overlay), but still fun to see a Star Wars film in theaters, especially for the saber duel and Liam Neeson's face. And sure, the haters will continue to hate, but considering I saw this film at the age of 8 (after having seen the originals a thousand times, along with being a Stormtrooper for several Halloweens in a row), it's got a soft spot for me. I once again found myself cringing at unnecessary dialogue, Jake Lloyd (and still wishing I had been in his place), and jizzing over the fight scenes.
Also, I don't know how many of you are music geeks like me, but the opening crawl sounded like it had a new mix of the main theme, probably something in the blu-ray release.

The prequels lack the morality and philosophy that the original trilogy is soaked in. That's why they're inferior.
edit: Every movie made from 1950-1990 has loads of Cold War undertones in it. Considering there was a constant fear of the Russians one day launching nukes at the US, I'd probably throw in a few as well.

Well they didn't want anyone to know she gave birth to the kids before she died.
Expecting that when they re-release A New Hope, it'll be edited so that Alderaan shot first and the Death Star was simply firing in its own defense.

Wouldn't someone ask why they left babies in a corpse?
Like ew, why would you want them out?
Saw it in 3D last night.
I can't say that I noticed anything really jumping out of me, but it was a fun time. It was great seeing the droid activation scene on a big screen like that.
I'd go if they were 2d sincee i never had the chance before. I can't stand 3d though..
^They are 2D (limited release, since the whole thing is that it's Star Wars in 3D), if your theater has it.
Like ew, why would you want them out?
So that the babies themselves could get a proper funeral/burial/whatever.

What do you mean good ones? The re release of the original trilogy in theaters will have more editing then the bluray version. It has literally more cgi work then the prequels.

Stopped skimming when I saw "Post 9/11"
Trying my best to convince my friend that episode 1 is a bad movie. Even showed him redlettermedia's review. But everything that I say is responded with "Yeah, well the Darth Maul fight was cool, that alone saves the movie."
Sometimes I just don't know.
Back from watching it, the 3D was sub par in all honesty, wasn't 3D for a majority of the time, and when it was it was pretty subtle.
Pretty much what I expected.
I may hold off on seeing Episode II again, but Episode III should look incredible in 3D especially the intro.
Wouldn't someone ask why they left babies in a corpse?
I asked my dad the same thing, a women's stomach does stay big after birth so depending when they had the funeral it would still be big.
Watching it twice for the first time in years and years re-reminded me just how abysmal the writing, the entire character of young Anakin, and of course Jar Jar is.
also the fact that Jake Loyd can't act.
also the fact that Jake Loyd can't act.
Just Jake Lloyd?
I fucking laugh whenever I see the darth maul fight.
OH NO MY MENTOR JUST DIED! BETTER BE ALL FUCKING FANCY IN THIS FIGHT INSTEAD OF EMOTION FILLED WAILING LIKE LUKE!

Obi-Wan was better trained then Luke.
Remember Obi-Wan had been with the jedi since he was a baby, Luke had what, not even a year of real training?
Just Jake Lloyd?
The others were just bad writing.
Any of the other actors are great outside of Star Wars.

I thought that that fight would've looked better if he'd just starting punching and kicking him alongside the lightsaber duel. It should've been more brutal and one sided after he got angry.
The one and only reason I won't watch The Phantom Menace in 3D is because I think I might have a heart attack if I see Jar Jar Binks in three dimensions.
I can just imagine how they have his tongue poke out of the screen during any of those 'wacky' scenes he's in or some shit.
