well, the early explosions were like something from an average 2005 video game but ye massive improvement since that
Plus if you notice closely in that video you see it's from a clone troopers point of view
I dismissed the TV series and assumed it was just for kids.
Looking at that trailer I feel awful and take it all back.

Its less 'for kids' than doctor who is.

a jedi gets impaled by a zabrak's head spikes, in a brief blink-and-you-miss-it scene a clone loses his head to a blaster bolt, there's a lot of snapping necks here and there, characters getting impaled/pierced/stabbed by non-lightsaber weapons like knives and spears and the themes get REALLY dark in parts (Darth Sidious kidnapping babies for apparently horrific purposes, proxy wars, terrorism etc). it isn't THAT kid-friendly and gets away with an impressive amount of questionable stuff
plus even Jar Jar is rather tolerable in the cartoon environment, that is exceptional too
biggest bonus: references to the Star Wars lore and expanded universe. heaps. tons. SHITLOADS. ALL OVER THE PLACE
TCW is overall one the most brutal shows that air for children. I mean mass deaths of clones, suicide bombers, stabbings, decapitations, getting cut in half by an air vent, executions, etc. Lets forget people dying, there's kidnappings, torture, prison escapes, black market deals, politics, and Twi'leks dancing, a nice about of sexual content that get past the censors.

Whats with the rainbow coloured explosions? I noticed that in the episode 2 weeks ago as well during the massive death watch battle.

They could have let [sp]Pong Krell[/sp] fight Grevious or Savage before killing him.

[sp] The tag line of this season is "Who Will Fall" so yeah. But now we have 4 left, Rex,Ashoka,Embo, and Ventress. So some one is going to have to die and my personal vote is Ashoka.[/sp]

[sp]If they kill Embo I will lose all respect for this series.[/sp]
[sp] I seriously believe Ashoka dies at the end of this arc considering some of the scenes in the trailer show Annie wielding a green lightsaber.[/sp]

Ford might indeed be returning to play Han Solo.
I give this credibility because it's Latino Review, and they're usually on the spot with their sources.
Fuck yeah.
I do think they're on the path to kill him off. He'll probably die valiantly in the Falcon with Chewie while trying to be a distraction or some shit. It'll be right at the end that nobody saw coming and everybody will be gutted. Then the year after you get a Han Solo origin film which will sell like hotcakes as everybody will want to gather round and be reminiscent about Han Solo's younger days like we're grieving a loved one.
I think Han's role here will be a fatherly role. His and Leia's kid (each trilogy is about another Skywalker which it technically would be). Luke will play an Obi-Wan like role I imagine and probably train the young Solo. Wouldn't be surprised if Force Ghost Yoda, Anakin and Obi-Wan appear even if it's only brief and just a voices heard talking to Luke. Anakin and Obi-wan would be the Prequel actors, they were great anyway and just let down by shitty scripts. It'd be a good way for Disney to tie the two trilogies together and make them worthwhile by actually using the actors.
Either way I think the older characters will take a back-seat role and just really be there to tie it all together, like Dallas. R2D2 will be definitely be in it as he's iconic, he'll probably appear all the way through like every other film. He's the only character that they haven't got to worry about ageing.
Well, it's what Ford always wanted.

Uh absolutely not
It's established canon that Chewie dies at the beginning of the Yuuzhan-Vong invasion at Sernpidal, and if he dies with Chewie in the movie, it completely fucks with everything later like the Dark Nest Crisis and the Second Galactic Civil War. There are currently no canonical sources of Solo's death as of yet, and the earliest it could happen would be after 43 ABY, which is after the Second Galactic Civil War. The last thing we see him doing is helping depose Daala and going to end a slave rebellion on Klatooine, which would be pretty boring movie.
If this movie has Solo dying in it any time before 43 ABY, I will simply refuse to see it.

My God that would be terrible.
What I hope is that they follow along the lines of the Jedi Academy trilogy, where the trio has taken a backseat due to their age, but are still able to command an audience. It allows them to be older (although the timeline difference would have to be expanded), allows Lando to return, and brings in a shit ton of new characters that could either continue on afterwards in spinoffs (such as Darksaber) or get their own films. Basically, they should just use the Kevin J. Anderson books for their films.
Let's just hope Carrie Fisher gets back into shape.
I still think they're going to ignore EU.

If you think Disney will keep the EU intact you have a nasty surprise on your hands
If Lucas really did write these stories at the same time then that means it's impossible for it to follow any story after that. Plus the authors of said works would be part of the already announced writing teams and consultants.

Not like she looks like she used to anyway. She had so much surgery, you'd never say she was the same person.

The EU is not part of the film canon, and thank god it's not.
Do you really want shlocky stuff like evil sith lord Jacen Solo on screen? I don't.

I'd rather not have large chunks of the Star Wars universe be completely destroyed.

like it already isn't? Star Wars canon is already a fuckhuge mess.
The only EU shit they should consider leaving canon is stuff like Dark Forces.

everything post-RotJ is poopoo IMO
The only EU shit they should consider leaving canon is stuff like Dark Forces.
and that's the only exception i'm ready to make
anyone else want to see Dark Troopers on the big screen?
anyone else want to see Dark Troopers on the big screen?
Red Harvest too
[editline]16th February 2013[/editline]
whoops, misread that as "Death Troopers"
The EU is a fucking mess, and some of it should go, but there are some gems in there.
