Star Wars Megathread Ep 1: The Though Out Menace (AKA The Phantom OP)

TCW seems to have a nice conspiracy theory going on about it's episodes regarding the Jedi Temple bombings and who did it. [sp] Recent episode had Ashoka being framed for murdering the wife the man who bombed the Jedi Temple Hangar indirectly.[/sp] The most likely suspects according to people is.
Palpy which this one seems to be the most obvious choice considering Palps want Annie to turn to the dark side and what's a better way than killing the padawan he has a strong attachment too.
Tarkin is an odd one to think about but surely one the better people considering he wants the Jedi removed from ALL military activities not to mention his strong connection to Palps
Maul After the last arc some believe Maul is behind it since Palpy said he might have some uses for him.
Ventress the second least likely person to frame here even though in the trailers she's attacking our hopefully soon to be dead friend, but it's be claimed several times that ventress is on after a bounty places on her head.
Barriss the only reason people think of her is because Barriss was acting rather odd in this episode, but there's no reason for barriss to betray Ashoka considering they've saved each others life at least 2 times, so she's definitely not the person otherwise it'd be WAY to easy.
But in regards this arc has to have something major happen to our title character and that something cannot be good.
does anyone have some good profile pics/schematics/whatever of the E-11 blaster rifle? i'm planning on buying an old sterling sporter and making it into one
the only eu titles that are canon are shadows of the empire, the force unleashed and the clone wars.
at least, those are the only ones i'm aware of.
more like this i mean

Force Unleashed was approved by Lucas, but so is a lot of other Star Wars material, does not make it Lucas level Canon.
Shadows of the Empire is the cloest thing you can get to Lucas level Canon outside of the movies and TV series.
Star Wars has a hierarchy or levels of canon take a look at this Wookieepedia page on it. Everything is canon, but some things are more canon then others.

My dad either seen or used one of them, I don't remember which, but it was after he seen Star Wars, and he told me it looked so familiar but couldn't place it.
i know the levels of canon
but shadows of the empire is film-level canon, lucas added in dash rendar's ship into a new hope (it's that one you see leaving mos eisley in the upper left). lucas even said that had it been made before 1990 he would have made it into a film.

How the hell did I forget about the Outrider. My bad.
http://screenrant.com/john-williams-star-wars-episode-7-score/
John Williams digs the idea of scoring the new trilogy.
Disney, if there is one thing you absolutely cannot fuck up on, it is this, not using Williams is detrimental to Star Wars film music. Michael Giacchino is a fantastic composer, I loved the shit out of his Star Trek score, but why emulate Star Wars music when you can have the fucking guy who wrote it?
They should work together for the score.
I wonder how credible this is
http://ca.ign.com/articles/2013/02/18/report-star-wars-episode-vii-to-focus-on-skywalker-solo-kids
It's kinda obvious. Every trilogy deals with the next generation Skywalker.
Whether those kids will be the same as the ones we saw in EU remains to be seen.
Some asshat has just said "OH SHIT I GOT STAR WARS PLOT DETAILS" and then looked at what we can probably expect based on how things age and what happened in every other film. I'd be more surprised if it said "R2D2 will be pink with a dildo on his head and C3PO will speak Russian and kick everybody in the anus shouting obscenities". But instead it was "Oh yeah the robots are the same. Like they've always fucking been. And the character that were in it before are OLD!"
The only rumour that's been at all interesting to me is the one that said John Noble is playing a bad guy.
Holy fuck I love John Noble
I must say, John Noble in a Star Wars film would be pretty cool,
they better cover that 30 year gap real tight if they want to pull this off.
I think the scariest part is that by the time that Episode VII comes out, the 40th anniversary of A New Hope is right around the corner.
So how's everyone enjoying the new clone wars arc?
Mark Hamill on how he and the other original stars are meeting with Lucasfilm;
"They're talking to us," he said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. "George [Lucas] wanted to know whether we'd be interested. He did say that if we didn't want to do it, they wouldn't cast another actor in our parts – they would write us out. … I can tell you right away that we haven't signed any contracts. We're in the stage where they want us to go in and meet with Michael Arndt, who is the writer, and Kathleen Kennedy, who is going to run Lucasfilm. Both have had meetings set that were postponed -- on their end, not mine. They're more busy than I am."
If he knows anything about the film yet;
"I'm assuming, because I haven't talked to the writers, that these movies would be about our offspring -- like my character would be sort of in the Obi-Wan range [as] an influential character. … When I found out [while making the original trilogy] that ultimate good news/bad news joke – the good news is there's a real attractive, hot girl in the universe; the bad news is she's your sister – I thought, 'Well, I'm going to wind up like Sir Alec [Guinness]. I'm going to be a lonely old hermit living out in some kind of desert igloo with a couple of robots.'"
On the original cast members;
"Another thing I'd want to make sure of is are we going to have the whole gang back? Is Carrie and Harrison and Billy Dee and Tony Daniels, everybody that's around from the original [returning]? I want to make sure that everybody's on board here, rather than just one."
The direction he hopes the film will go;
"I said to George that I wanted to go back to the way it was, in the sense that ours was much more carefree and lighthearted and humorous – in my opinion, anyway....hope they find the right balance of CGI with practical effects. I love props, I love models, miniatures, matte paintings -- I'm sort of old school. I think if you go too far in the direction of CGI it winds up looking like just a giant a video game, and that's unfortunate. … If they listen to me at all, it'll be, 'Lighten up and go retro with the way it looks.'"
And an old behind-the-scenes picture of Carrie that popped up recently,

I'd tap that version of Carrie
I hope they listen to Mark. They should try to keep the effects as practical as they can.
I guess Carrie was sorta hot. Never really noticed it in the films just thought it looked weird.
Probably because she was off her face on drugs.
the lower levels of Coruscant were shown in yesterday's Clone Wars episode, looked nearly identical to what has been shown so far in Star Wars 1313 footage.

Yup, Ahsoka even mentions being on level 1312 and 1315..
Oh wow this is possibly one of the worst things the TCW crew has done.
Oh wow this is possibly one of the worst things the TCW crew has done.
Why?
Why?
[sp] Because screwing up more of the EU upsets fans, and the complete utter character assassination of Barriss.She goes from a Jedi Healer to a terrorist bomber.[/sp]
Just watched an interview with Jake Lloyd (Aka Anakin Jr) and he says that somewhere in Lucas' vault is a 6 hour cut of Star Wars Episode 1. And apparently those who have seen it say it's a million times better than the actual film and completely mind blowing.
I don't know what to think. I always thought the pacing of EP 1 sucked. What the hell did he cut?
