The 9/11 memorial fountain thing is the size of one of the towers, right? makes it look so empty, brings on some emotions
Do you see that black coating on the concrete? You can thank my dad's company for that.
The whole strike was blown out of proportion in the media to incite extreme patriotism in the people to ready them for war. Edit: Yeah, the holocaust was extremely horrible but do the jews have a yearly crying day for it?
You have like, less than 1% of the entire population that's taking bullets before and after the attacks. What.
Today I'm playing at my local city hall for a Remembrance Day thing.
You guys should really watch this, it's a really good way of viewing 9/11 from a fireman's view. Basically, there is this guy named Naudet who is filming a trainee fireman. It's a normal day, and the fire crew responds to a gas leak not too far from the trade centers. Chief Joseph Pfeifer is with them and he is measuring something when all of a sudden you hear this loud rumbling sound (the jet engines) and Naudet gets the plane crash into the 1st tower on film. You hear the real reactions of all the firemen, and Naudet follows the firemen from getting into the car and going to the trade center (they were the first emergency workers to arrive). You actually see inside as Naudet actually goes up into the towers with a fire crew while filming.
I saw that video in high quality without that reproduction watermark in one of my classes last year. You could hear and see everything. Teacher had a DVD with it. Pretty intense when the first planes hit since there's footage of the actual planes hitting the towers. And then the smoke and ash as firefighters get out of there. Intense stuff.

I just found this and thought it was interesting. It's a legit photo from the day apparently
I was in second grade, my school had a big immigrant population, and one of the kids I knew was named Osama, and there was another named Sumir, both immigrants from Afghanistan. I look back and feel like a huge asshole because they got questioned and made fun of after the attacks and I was sometimes a part of that. After we had all gotten in trouble for this, we started calling him Sammy and stopped asking Sumir why she always had to wear her "funny scarf thing". Sammy and Sumir, if you're reading this, I'm really really really really sorry
Some little bitch posted a Facebook status: "Lol who gives a fuck about 9/11? hhaahaaha" What should I say to this kid?
Some little bitch posted a Facebook status: "Lol who gives a fuck about 9/11? hhaahaaha" What should I say to this kid?
How close are you? Just say most of your family is overseas in some other country because of that and tell him to shut up.
Some little bitch posted a Facebook status: "Lol who gives a fuck about 9/11? hhaahaaha" What should I say to this kid?
'Nobody likes you.'
Some little bitch posted a Facebook status: "Lol who gives a fuck about 9/11? hhaahaaha" What should I say to this kid?
tell her to kill herself
Some little bitch posted a Facebook status: "Lol who gives a fuck about 9/11? hhaahaaha" What should I say to this kid?
Why is that kid even your friend
I commented with "You not "giving a fuck" doesn't make you any cooler and in reality just makes you look pretty stupid and ignorant. I honestly couldn't give a shit if you don't care about a few thousand people dying but please, keep it to yourself because there are a lot of people that do."
this caught my eye because i drive a taurus SES the hellish landscape after the collapse - from that atlantic article if you havent seen them already.
I thought the people who thought 9/11 was an "inside job" were just trolling, but some people actually believe it... I don't fucking even...

My brothers friend keep sending me images from 4chan, I haven't looked at them but I assume they're probably not worth seeing, and he refers today as: *friends brother*: win time *friends brother*: 10th aniversary of win *friends brother*: from 4chan I assume it's one way to remember what happened
Hm, is it something they really need to be teaching year after year to children who weren't even alive then?
Uh yeah it is the main reason the world we live in today is the way it is
It is my birthday today.
It is my birthday today.
I'm sorry that your birthday is marked by such a major tragedy :c Otherwise, happy birthday. On the bright side, nobody probably forgets your birthday knowing it is on 9/11.
I remember my mom being nervous that the power plant we lived by was going to be attacked. I was little, but I remember there was a huge panic that more attacks would come days after 9/11
I'm sorry that your birthday is marked by such a major tragedy :c Otherwise, happy birthday. On the bright side, nobody probably forgets your birthday knowing it is on 9/11.
On the down side no body remembers his birthday without remember it's 9/11 first.
It is my birthday today.
Hey, in a few decades everyone'll forget about this day and you'll feel just like the people who were born on Pearl Harbor or Holocaut Memorial day. ...holocaust memorial day
Naturally Herman Cain turned 9/11 into a campaign ad. Stay classy GOP.
This is actually reminding me of something. Recently there was a plane accident in which a famous hockey player died (Stefan Liv) Now of course that is a sad and unfair way to die an it's great that people feel sad about it and care. But what about the other 42 people that died in that plane crash, no one seem to remember them or even write "R.I.P Stefan Liv and the other sad souls that died in that plane accident". Things like this makes me sad. http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/StefanLiv
It's because you're in Sweden. Here you only hear about the ones who played for NHL Teams.

I really don't like reading what people have to say about 9/11 on Facebook today. I posted something, and I think it was rather unbiased, merely stating the remembrance of those that died. However, some of my culturally ignorant "friends" are saying things like "It amazes me how the Islamic people or Muslim people are so big on religion, but who are they to play god and take away the lives of all the people on that grim day 10 years to this date". Stuff like that promotes prejudice and racism. Over 1.5 billion people cannot be held responsible for something a sect of less than 1000 did. That'd be like blaming Christianity for Anders Breivik.
So sad this tragedy... I still remember the day as it was yesterday. Around the time when this incident has happened, like only months or a couple of weeks before, I started to be interested in the twin towers of NYC. I've always seen them in some cool movies and music clips, though never asked myself why they kept showing them, representing New York. Then when the day has come, I was only 13, playing some video games, my brother walked in my room and said: "Hey Romka, look they show something on TV where the 2 skyscrapers you love so much are burning." I walked into the living room and saw what was happening. I wondered what movie it was... a couple moments later we realized that it was no movie, it was the breaking news. With my mouth open I watched 2 great symbolic buildings going down into a cloud of dust and a pile of rubble. Rest in peace old WTC, sorry I was never able to pay you a visit. :(...
