In all seriousness, I sometimes compare myself to Niko from GTAIV; been through a lot, is sympathetic, and can be violent.
lol
I was expecting someone to do that. It's half-funny, half-serious. I think.
The closest I've ever felt like I was going to die was only when I was CERTAIN I had Appendicitis, I mean I had almost every symptom. In hindsight it was hilarious, because I had other, more specific symptoms which warranted it being another problem (I wasn't eating enough) which would've made it obvious had I not been blinded by my bullheaded ideas.
Hello, Facepunch. Before I begin, this is not a troll thread at all. This is serious business and I'd like some respect from those who post in here (I'm sure all of you will be respectful). Okay. It started when I was born. I had to be cut out of the womb for some reason I forget. If I was in there for one more day, I would've died. Seriously. I was born - I think - three months early. Hell of an accomplishment, eh? With this premature birth brought my vision problems (20/100 in my good eye, legally blind in the other) and a growth issue. I have been taking growth hormones (needle form, like how you take blood at the hospital) for about seven or eight years now & will continue until I'm eighteen. I think about a year later I was diagnosed with liver cancer. I almost died but I pulled through. I started noticing a possible case of PTSD (Post-traumatic stress disorder) when I was around fourteen. I was angry, I was stressed constantly, and got pissed over any little thing. That still persists but the stress has went down a whole bunch, thank God. Then I noticed I was staring out into space randomly for a little over a minute. I looked this up on the Internet (Wikipedia, of all things) and found out it was the 'thousand-yard stare'. This is why I "don't pay attention" at times. I also forget what I am doing a lot. I easily forget, in short. Luckily I am still standing after all this; a rough childhood is hell on everyone. tl;dr - I was born prematurely, I survived cancer, I may have Post-traumatic stress disorder, I always forget shit, and I had a rough start. Thanks to those who didn't tl;dr and maybe you may have similar stories about yourselves or friends/family members. Thanks again for reading and God bless you all. ~AI
I was going to be a jerk and troll a little but i read about the stare. I do that shit. Googling now
I google'd the stare cause I get that a lot.
I google'd the stare cause I get that a lot.
Didnt get any good results. What did you search?
Didnt get any good results. What did you search?
I put in thousand yard stare and got a wiki page about battle exhausted soldiers who stare off into space
I can sympathize with your sight problems. Both my eyes are 20/120
ITT people who think they have the thousand yard stare and are unique when it is actually called day dreaming or zoning out.
I think it may be zoning out but I like to call it the thousand-year stare. Sounds cooler. :downs: inb4dumbrating
This is serious business and I'd like some respect from those who post in here
No. You're in the wrong place.
Not to be an asshole or anything, as I have lost a friend to cancer, so I know it serious stuff.. But why would you post this story on FP? All your gonna get is either: "Wow, that sucks dude." or your gonna get trolled. This type of thing should be posted in a personal blog or something like that. FP is most definatly NOT the place to post this type of story, its loaded with heartless bastards who would think nothing of making jokes out of your story or post some retarded image macro. Anyway...Your situation really does sound pretty shitty so Im going to do the only thing that I really can do over the internet. Wish you luck.
You do realize that "PTSD" is little more then Teen Angst induced by Puberty, right?
Tsk tsk tsk, I'm disappointed in you, I thought you'd read up on things before you say completely false things.
Question: Did you diagnose yourself with PTSD? [editline]05:30AM[/editline]
Then I noticed I was staring out into space randomly for a little over a minute. I looked this up on the Internet (Wikipedia, of all things) and found out it was the 'thousand-yard stare'. This is why I "don't pay attention" at times.
How do you look it up and still don't know what it is? By your definition of it I also have the 'thousand yard stare'.
Rarararra I have it too
(Post-traumatic stress disorder)I
I thought your name would have something to do with it but no, you're not in the military. It most probably isn't PTSD
My pet rat died of liver cancer :( [editline]08:41PM[/editline] you can't have more than two halves silly
You fed it beer? omfg your the silly one.
