Add me to British Columbia.
[editline]6th January 2012[/editline]
Looks like BC has the most people in it.
That's 3025%.
*gets shoved into a locker*
...
That would be almost 400,000,000
I posted this on the map description already, but I'll say it here too.
American Facepunchers, keep in mind that flying is not your only option. Amtrak is federally subsidized, which means that tickets are fairly cheap. I've bought a ticket from Tucson to Los Angeles and it only cost me around $30-40
Or 18, that's the legal adult age in most states.
If it happens after July next year I'll be 18.
[editline]6th January 2012[/editline]
Eh, I'll only go if there is a meetup within 1 state of me.
Damn, I'd love to join, but so far there are only 2 of us in Georgia. I'd hate to miss out if it's held in BC. But I understand haha.
uh...
I'd love to know what car you're driving that eats up $80 for two 2.5 hour trips.
My car gets relatively low mileage and I could make the tip with less than $40 spent in gas.
I quickly edited my thing because I originally thought it was $40 for round-trip. In 8 hours of driving, I could use up a tank of gas which costs me around $60-$80.

Updated map. Added evitwins' quote to OP because he makes a good point. Will probaly add a Transportation section in a bit.
North Florida would be cool.
Arizona
Map updated. Added transportation section to OP.
New Jersey
I'd probably come if it was near me, or if there was an affordable way to get there
I live in Virginia.
Would be down if it wasn't too far. Haven't been on a train in a long time, I have no idea how much tickets run.

From what I can see online, the quotes are expensive. Users are saying it's cheap though, so I can't really comment but it's generally cheaper than flying. By atleast half.
There's like 8 FPers in the Southeastern US.
Plus me that I have around 800$ in credit at Copa Airlines and would definitely board a plane to florida (which I'm planning to do regardless of what happens )

For a ticket from here to Seattle is $110. How the hell did you get it so cheap?
Would there be an age limit?
I don't really want to be camping with a bunch of 12 year olds.
17 sounds good to me.
I like the sound of driving age more.
Hey people at BC/North-west: You should start planning already, you have AT LEAST 13 people in there, plus those who haven't put a mark on the map. I'm pretty sure you can make it happen.
[editline]7th January 2012[/editline]
I'd do like however a meetup in north florida.

It's, at most, 5 hours round trip from Seattle to Vancouver.

Updated the regional map.
Currently the numbers are:
SouthEast - 13 (+1 from Panama)
NorthEast - 19
SouthCentral - 4
NorthCentral - 4
NorthWest - 15
SouthWest - 6

Looks like the North-West is no longer the most populated. Now it is the North East.
-snip- im dumb
I'd throw in a vote for Northern Florida. We could find a few quality campsites in between Tallahassee and Jacksonville and start compiling information.
atlanta ga
Phoenix area, AZ. I could probably go if it was under a day's drive.
So I guess the question is. North-West meet-up. Either in BC or Washington (Preferably BC? Lower drinking age, more people in BC, more "central" to NW being between Alberta and Washington). Would anyone travel to come? Would people from Washington/Oregon/Alberta come? California? Further even?
I could see a BC meet-up happening because BC isn't relatively large with most of the population being in south-west BC (Vancouver, Victoria, etc) and the Okanagan (UBC has 60,000 students).

For travel in the OP..
Don't forget Greyhound. They have a terrible, terrible reputation but if you only have a carry-on bag and stay awake throughout your trip you'll be fine. It's also the cheapest way to go - I'm currently packing for a one-way trip from Detroit to Charleston (WV) that cost me $85.50 with a 10% off coupon. It gets even cheaper when you pay 3 weeks in advance. Amtrak would have cost over $100 for the same trip and lasted 10 more hours.
Gonna have to be in British Columbia, there are alot of camping sights and it is widely renowed as the best places on earth in terms of scenery, air quality etc. Also its mostly a giant rain forest. I personally recommend Vancouver Island or somewhere near Vancouver.
[editline]7th January 2012[/editline]
That is, however if you're going to go tenting n shit, Ill bring shit or something if you guys do it.
goldstream is a awesome camp ground and its close to BC's capital.. Victoria ferry to washington and mainland BC

Hehe, yes, Goldstream is quite awesome. I've hiked up Mt. Finlayson 3-4 times which is at Goldstream. I've never camped at Goldstream (My friends mostly camp at Shawnigan) but both Goldstream and Shawnigan are fantastic places to camp. I know Shawnigan is conducive to rowdy-people though, with my friends largely going camping at Shawnigan to get really stoned.
So, it'd be pretty fine for some rowdy people drinking beer, but Goldstream would be fine too (Might not be able to be as rowdy? Just means people have to calm their shit if it gets loud.)
I didn't suggest Victoria though because the $80 ferry ticket for a vehicle is expensive, when that could be the price of the entire trip combined if you're travelling from a state over. It's still $12 to walk-on and that makes $24 round-trip.
Fort St john, BC, damn its cold

Why would you ever want to do a meetup in central BC in the winter time. South west BC is best BC
If we do one in chicago I'm gucci.
Not driving further then 5 hours to meet up with a bunch of fp'ers tho.
Facepunch Canadia meetup 2012, we have the majority.

Let's go to Prince George we can get shot, frostbite, and bad lungs all in one trip!
Mystic beach on the Juan De Fuca trail is also an option.
