Why can't we organize two camping spots? It seems like on the map we have two distinct areas, the northwest and most of the eastern area.

Also, add another to Pennsylvania.
Someone (preferably a mod or well known poster) just needs to step up and say THIS IS WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN, you can join in or fuck off sort of thing. Lay down a decent plan of action and follow it up. Don't leave it open to debate or nothing will get done.
That's how UK camp fp is done anyway,
you fuckers havent experienced camping till you come to canada

No Canadian mods, no American mods willing to come.

Then someone needs to be brave enough to do it. People will whinge and bitch it's in the wrong place, but there's obviously a high density of users in one place, someone from there should step up and organise something, plan it all out then make a thread. People will turn up.
added myself, added group lines or something
[editline]8th January 2012[/editline]
you canada bros with the cottage are definitely well off
We should do a meetup within the month, someone willing to Organize BC meetup? That guy with the cottage should do it.

I'd be happy to go to seattle/BC next year, but it's a long trip and I'm not sure I'll have the available funds nor time. There's a lot of you in that general area, I'm sure that a more localized group would be capable of pulling it off, someone from that area should take charge since they should know where they're camping. I'd love to just say "shut up everyone this is the plan" but it's quite the undertaking when I'm 2,000+ miles away
I was looking at Camp Sites on the Island last night but there was a few problems I noticed.
1: The fees are relatively high.
2: They allow 2 cars per group, and a group is a minimum of 15 people.
3: The Ferry to Victoria is $80 for a car and $12 for a person.
Anyone know any good campsites on the mainland?

Golden Ear, but its less accessible and not as out-there as Vancouver Island.
[QUOTE=Ven Kaeo;34107425]Did you even fucking read any of the thread? At all?
Perhaps you missed the fact that we're splitting it into REGIONS. To make it EASIER.

No. We don't need a passport to go into Canada. But fucked if we need one coming back.
I had a friend that went to Canada from Indiana, then tried to come back without a passport. According to him it was the "biggest shitstorm I've ever been through"[/QUOTE]
I did after the fact, but what I posted still stands. The only place in the US that honestly seems like it would work would be the area around washington/oregon/BC simply because theres such a massive amount of FP's in that area for some reason. Even then at least half of you guys are looking at a days worth of driving (which isn't terrible mind you, but I'm just saying that is the best case scenario).
For everywhere else, a ton of people would pretty much have to go 2-4 states over to just get to a decent group of people, which costs a lot in gas/food/etc for just a simple and casual camping trip.
It's hard to really travel or casually camp anywhere in the US without making it into a full blown trip unless you live in an area that has a lot of camping and wilderness avalable. And mind you, those are some of the best places on earth to camp out, but most people realistically don't live too close to areas like that. The closest near me would be southern kentucky/teneesee (I live in Ohio) and that's about 5-6 hour drive for just casual camping. The type of travel required for a lot of people calls more for a legit trip than something more casual like the UK meetups.
I'd love to do a legit trip with other FP'ers, especailly if it had some kind of goal like "get to Comicon or PAX" or some kind of cool non-PC related thing like rock climbing etc. And especailly if it goes through Flagstaff, which as far as I'm concerned is the best town on earth :v: I stayed there for a bit on my trip this past december, and it literally has everything from skiing to desert, to the grand canyon 2 hours drive west, etc. The place is damn homey too. Its pretty much the perfect town to live in for my standards if it wasn't for the fact that there obviously wouldn't be any real employment in the area unless you open up a small business.

I'm for a week-ish BC trip, why dont you east people just make your own meetup? The majority are all crammed in one spot therefor BC is rather convienient.
Someone started trolling the map and wiped out a bunch of people in the south east. Can you please check if you're still on the map?
Also, who the fuck is Mike? No, we're not going to cuba.
Yeah, what's with all these people adding Cuba to the map?

Really now?
[QUOTE=ExplodingGuy;34114320]Yeah, what's with all these people adding Cuba to the map?[/QUOTE]
Some arsehole moved all the eastern place marks, some towards Cuba, I'll see if i can put most of them back, but check and replace your Placemark.
Alas, such is the problem with publically-editable maps. Trolls come and wreck our shit. :(

We can make a new map that's uneditable, or get barttool to just use the Collaborate option to make it editable by only a few.
I would love to do this, and would be willing to travel (would have to, north-Texas here) but wouldn't be able to do it any time soon :(. No funds.
someone really fucked up the map
[editline]8th January 2012[/editline]
im late I know
I say we cross the border into Mexico and camp in cartel territory.
[editline].[/editline]
Someone is going to bring a dragon dildo, I just know it.
Can someone repost the map link so I can favorite it? I don't wanna go link hunting D:
Some asshole moved around most of the markers on the map. A lot of them are in Alabama now, including mine.
So basically, if we want to do a proper map, people would have to be manually added, either given
permission to edit or have their location added by someone else.

I'll redo the map, I'll only give access to the OP and perhaps to who asks for it
And for whoever trolled the map, oh man, you're so cool.
Can you PM me your email address OP?
Virginia's awesome for camping, bitch we got MOUNTAINS and CAVERNS and even fuckin' rolling HILLS.

I think I'd be willing to go from Northern-Cali, to Washington. Maybe even BC if I can afford it.
