Additionally, I provide a very useful focal point - instead of users bickering amongst themselves, the "drama" (drama is a dumb term) is focused towards me. Not only does this provide a sense of familiarity but it stops animosity from generating between regulars and instead focuses on me, a place where it can be safely deposited.
