You're overreacting to people's attraction to interesting elements that probably were designed with intent for more exposure.

But with the move to chat threads it should have knocked it in their heads that they won't get gold. This can also apply with people like me who have recently joined therefor the idea of gold would not be possible until 2 years from now. But you have a good point, and it is the truth. But I should mention that people (Before here) called other people shit posters if they were in the top 10 posters in the thread.
