um guys it's a big corporate thing, you do know that MLP was one of the shows that ENDED the period of cartoons being directed by a single artistic vision and instead being run by corporate interest/many people. Lauren faust leaving won't make your show turn into a piece of shit, calm down

From what I understand she'll still have a role in the show, just not holding the reins anymore. The original team is still there.

for some reason people have put her on a deistic pedestal of "THE ONE AND ONLY FACE BEHIND THE KID'S SHOW" when she probably played a role that ended up minor by the time the show was aired. people forget there were dozens of voice actors, animators, writers who were ultimately the people who gave the show its charm and style, not one person. it's called a collaborative effort for a reason

As unfortunate as all of this is, I'm going to try to remain on the optimistic side and believe (read: hope and pray) that the show is still going to be spectacular. We have months to wait, so it'd be best to wait to panic for when it's appropriate.

I don't blame them. Shows are a collaborative effort I agree, but take a look at the cartoon Spongebob Squarepants. I forget the guys name, but he was the one who directed/wrote the cartoon from the first air all the way to the spongebob movie, and the show was actually good/funny. After he stepped down/left the cartoon afterwards went downhill and if you compare now to the old, there's a drastic difference.

That's entirely my point. The guy in charge of spongebob's artistic direction was completely in charge, Lauren Faust isn't. That's what I was saying, we've regressed to a point where cartoons aren't spearheaded by one person's views anymore (where Spongebob was) and so if one person leaves it won't matter as they weren't the sole creative influence.
