I like all the characters. All of them.
Alright, I'm going to remain optimistic about Lauren Faust leaving her original position on the show. First of all, while she might have overseen the project as a whole the real work came from the writers, animators, storyboarders, voice actors, etc. They're all still there, and I can only imagine they're smart enough to have picked up on Lauren's intentions for the show. Besides that, she can't be the only person there with good ideas. As for the other post, I hardly think new characters would spoil the show. I mean, we started off with six main characters and have added several minor characters as the episodes required. The CMCs, Zekora, Mr. and Mrs. Cake, Snips and Snail? The dozen other characters who made a single episode appearance? They didn't ruin the show! They served to flesh out Ponyville and make it seem more alive, like more stuff goes on than what we see the main characters doing. I wouldn't take the "new characters" comment any further than this. If you're worried MLP is going to go Sonic the Hedgehog and bloat the cast with unnecessary characters then I'm afraid you're just being pessimistic. Ugh, that took me so long to write that you guys stopped talking about it by the time it got posted. That's interesting, since yesterday only 10 cents have been spent, whoever was spamming requests must have stopped. That or the stats haven't updated. But if they have stopped then I might not have to remove emotes

Damn it, I hate it when I wake up to find 200 posts. What the hell? It doesn't even air in your cuntry! Also, Lauren Faust is leaving? I don't want to end up watching a watered down version. Hopefully they get a Tim Burton-esque(Jhonen Nasquez???) director. Yeah, optimistically speaking, Hasbro may be replacing Faust because they want a more "manly" writer, or something on those lines...

Lauren faust leaving won't make your show turn into a piece of shit, calm down

for some reason people have put her on a deistic pedestal of "THE ONE AND ONLY FACE BEHIND THE KID'S SHOW" when she probably played a role that ended up minor by the time the show was aired. people forget there were dozens of voice actors, animators, writers who were ultimately the people who gave the show its charm and style, not one person. it's called a collaborative effort for a reason

That's entirely my point. The guy in charge of spongebob's artistic direction was completely in charge, Lauren Faust isn't. That's what I was saying, we've regressed to a point where cartoons aren't spearheaded by one person's views anymore (where Spongebob was) and so if one person leaves it won't matter as they weren't the sole creative influence.

It actually is, because whether people like it or not FiM is primarily a Hasbro Ad. Because of this, the situation is starkly more different than most shows - even if Lauren did have a magnanimous position within the development team and was responsible for every single thing you liked in the show (Which isn't true to begin with), she still had to work alongside fixed guidelines - those of corporate agenda. And as it is, FiM is not a creator-driven show. Like I said, it was actually one (if not the) show to signal the death knell of the concept of shows driven by a single person's vision. kinda like this Really, what I mean is that even if Lauren Faust WAS the show, the new Executive Producer will have the exact same guidelines and objective, so despite a few intricacies the show will be the same (The writers, animators and voice actors who for the most part gave the actual life to the show didn't spontaneously combust, for example) The jokes are written by writers, and the writers didn't die of cancer so yes there will.
Stop talking about Lauren Faust leaving, everything will be fine. I hope there's an episode in the next series where one of the CMC gets their Cutie Mark and the rest of the group hates her for it. Bound to happen, you know it's coming and it will be an awesome episode.
Actually, forget what I said earlier. I want John St. John to voice act.
IT'S AN EXECUTIVE PRODUCER [editline]9th May 2011[/editline]
Agreed. However, let's hope Hasbro doesn't oversaturate the brony market. They probably weren't expecting us, and we all know what happens when corporations over-speculate on the unexpected.
IT'S AN EXECUTIVE PRODUCER [editline]9th May 2011[/editline]
Y'know hell's frozen over when I'm starting to sympathise with CheeseMan.
[tab]we needed to know this[/tab]
It's as on topic as most of the stuff posted here.
The only bad thing that could come out of Faust leaving is that its now harder for us to explain why we watch it. We can't say: "Oh! the lady that worked on ppg and fosters home for imaginary friends is the executive producer" anymore.
fluttershy thinking about all the different ways she can torture the animals that don't love her
I thought that didn't matter sorry :smith:
now now, im the one to get sad, I am sad pinkie pie after all. Go back to your parties, little one.

Did I say flanks I meant plot.

Just say you watch it because it is a necessary part of the internet meme subculture.
do you actually think that anybody accepted that explanation
My friend did. It even got him to watch it.
If I get asked why I watch it I do what any sensible man would do in that situation. Which is
Just say you watch it because it is a necessary part of the internet meme subculture.
Then you'd just sound like a total moron for trying to be part of the "meme subculture." Unless your twelve.

I honestly don't see why people have such a hard time looking for "excuses" to why they like the show. It's an all around great show and I enjoy it. It's that easy.

Friendship. To me, an episode like that is just obvious. Aand it could be quite emotional.
