If isreal was to go to war with iran, what would be the general israeli opinion?
It depends
Nobody would give you shit for it, people talk however they fucking want
It would pretty much reveal that you're not a native Hebrew speaker to anyone that hears you though
Im sorry I saw the title in the ticker and had to comment
You're welcome.
Is it as hard to learn as it looks?
Is it as hard to learn as it looks?
Not really
Hebrew is actually very simplified compared to, say, English
It doesn't have a lot of exceptions to the rules and is very flexible in terms of grammar, to the point where you can often change the order of words in a sentence and it would still be grammatically correct. For example, the phrase "I want bread" can be said in several ways- אני רוצה לחם, לחם אני רוצה, רוצה אני לחם...
The only part that's kind of difficult is the lack of a Latin alphabet, and you need to get used to reading right to left, but that's it really
You can actually use Hebrew as a stepping stone to Arabic if you want, the two languages have a lot in common.
As an Arab, I felt the need to ask: how is Hebrew any where close to Arabic? The symbols used are completely different and the way of speaking is world's apart.
So how can Hebrew be used as a stepping stone to Arabic? Unless you mean a stepping stone to Levantine Arabic, in which case I have no idea as I've never heard someone speak it (I'm not from any of the Eastern-Mediterranean countries).

Its truer for Israelis than for other Hebrew speakers. We pick up a lot of slang from neighboring countries, as well as some from Jewish immigrants from Arab nations.
Also, you would not believe how many words are almost, if not exactly the same in both Hebrew and Arabic (or at least, the local, Mediterranean version).

The wikipedia page about Arabic language actually has some very good examples.
Sweet, thanks for that response man. I had no idea they shared similarities, but then again, it was silly of me to make the assumption when I don't even speak Hebrew myself.
Also, on an unrelated note, I like your username. I don't know why, it just sounds nice in my head. Glorbo.

Edit: It's true, LuaChobo! They're obviously not exactly the same, and the styles of calligraphy are very different, but they're both derived from a common Aramaic character set.
why is your writing backwards though
A lot of non latin/germanic languages are 'backwards'. If you think about it, from their point of view english is backwards.
In Israel, buses have to drive backwards all the time so people can read the advertisements on the side.
In Israel, buses have to drive backwards all the time so people can read the advertisements on the side.
I can confirm this.
In Israel, buses have to drive backwards all the time so people can read the advertisements on the side.
Wouldn't it be the contrary? Since you read from the right to left the movement of the bus would just help you read it

Definitely a debate only foreigners would waste their time upon.
