It looks VERY pretty, just going to say this before I watch
Yes it does, it's one of the best looking games this year in my opinion, but this IS the frostbite engine and I expect as much from DICE. Isn't there a PC "mod" that makes battlefront incredibly "film-like?"
I don't really see the lack of content. I've put 40 hours in already in only two game modes, haven't even tried the other 6 or so. Haven't even tried the single player missions, nor the co-op missions. Also we're getting a new game mode in December with more content.
only if his introductory line is "meesa is the keysa to all of this"
then he just proceeds to run around falling over cartoonishly everywhere special weapon - people die of cringe in a radius around him
I just can't pay 110$ for a MP only game with lacklustre customization, crap flying, cramp vehicles, crap balance no matter how pretty it is. I've played enough beta and enough of the full release at my friends house to know I'll never want it

As cool as it is that Battlefront is getting SOME free content, that season pass irritates the shit out of me.
Is it just me or does TBs voice sound really really different?
He has a cold.
Looks like that card bs is gonna make the game unplayable.
The reason why the game sucks may be because the game will sell either way. It is Star Wars after all.
I guess I'll enjoy the game then because its been a lot of fun and the season pass is bullshit but the actual game itself is fun.
battlefront 2 was also released in 2005 so it's kind of ok for the gameplay to have been simple battlefield 2 was released around that time as well and is also a pretty simple game, because that's just what the standards were in 2005
Woah, hold on there. Battlefield 2 was not a "pretty simple game." It's the modern Battlefields the are "pretty simple games" in comparison to Battlefield 2. There was a lot going on back then that's since been lost like Commander mode and fully featured squads.
Seriously though. This video should've had a gore warning. I didn't know he was going to murder the game on screen.
At least Splatoon had all it's post-launch content introduced in semi-frequent free updates. This game has the majority of DLC locked behind a $50 season pass.
Majority of its content*
Which does not at all make BF2 "simple"
also gunplay is significantly improved, the hitreg in vanilla bf2 is god damn awful
This part I agree with. The classic Battlefield games had pretty garbage hit registration because it was 100% server side, and modern Battlefield do have much more involved gunplay. Until DICE LA got a hold of BF4, bad netcode was just something people had come to accept in a Battlefield game. Everything else I disagree with.
*Looks at PS4 copy with no season pass and frowns. Looks to PS2 copy of Battlefront 2 and remembers selling the old PS2. Frowns harder.* Battlefront is okay, I guess. I mean the Heroes in BF2 were OP as well, though it was randomized and gave you multiple chances should you not pick it up. It's also unfair that the Empire in this is the only side with ground vehicles while the Rebels have none. It really does feel empty with only four-five maps to choose from(five if you're counting that one flight map.)
I guess I'll enjoy the game then because its been a lot of fun and the season pass is bullshit but the actual game itself is fun.
Not telling you that you can't have fun but ignoring a game's flaws and accepting this kind of subpar nonsense is exactly the reason why a lot of newer games now are filled with more streamlined bullshit. [editline]28th November 2015[/editline] Battlefront 2 is by no means a perfect game but the game is also a decade old. As TB said, BF3 had a template they could improve on but they disregarded BF2 and made this abomination. At this point a Battlefield clone with the current visual and art design would of at least been a solid game. Not too innovative but still solid. [editline]28th November 2015[/editline] this dunkey quote puts it well.
I saw this coming. It's a shame because the visuals were so promising
This is how I imagine he would review that shitty Devil may cry remake had he actually played the originals
This is how I imagine he would review that shitty Devil may cry remake had he actually played the originals
Y'know, DMC was a perfectly decent hack-and-slash destroyed by the fact it had the Devil May Cry name.
Hacking/trainers are also a legit problem as well, A major effect of the fact that there are no server browsers or custom servers. No Admins, no tools to report, no decent anti-cheat system etc.
Tripping over ATATs is one of the most pathetic things I have seen in a video game all year I think. Move your mouse up and down! So intense! In Battlefront you had to shoot the damn rope yourself and fly around the ATAT yourself.
compared to modern games, it's pretty simple
Compared to modern DICE games it's fucking theoretical physics. It had in-built server browser and complex VoIP system and you also could place icons on the map.
TB's videos have been EXTREMELY good recently. Like I haven't paid attention to him for a bit now due to various reasons, but his Overwatch video and this one drew me in heavily and kept my attention.
This video makes me miss Battlefront 2, I played that so so much on PS2 that I wish I could somehow transfer my PS2 saves to PC [editline]28th November 2015[/editline]
I remember in Battlefront II trying to take down an ATAT was a terrifying experience for both sides. For a rebel its "I hope someone doesn't shoot me!" And the Imperials would be like "Oh shit this fucker's on his third turn I have to get him on this next one!" Plus I think IIRC you needed a co-pilot to shoot that rope onto an ATAT.
Yeah, and if you had an AI piloting then good luck, and if you had an AI shooting the rope then good luck. The AI of older battlefields wasn't very good admittedly, but it was 10 years ago

Even Rogue Squadron on the N64 had badass ATAT walker tripping mechanics. The tension as you passed in front of its blaster cannons was palpable.
The reason why the game sucks may be because the game will sell either way. It is Star Wars after all.
If that was true then LucasArts would still be alive.
The game is amazingly fun, this must be the first time I disagree with Totalbiscuit.
see thats the issue: people will say "but it is a fun game" and nobody would deny it is. problem arises when after the 10th run of walker assault you drop your blaster and wonder if there anything else in ths game other than the next 10 rounds of walker assault. only that deep inside you you know that there isnt. and a EPVII themed map isnt going to change shit because they'll have to redo the whole game's mechanics.
If this game was "Battlefield: Sci-Fi Edition" would people still like it? I honestly really doubt it.
