good thing i didnt pay $110
If you want $15 worth of content you'll have to.
Otherwise, to use Mega64's words, you paid full price for two more things than the free beta.

Okay, because I understand wanting to take weapons straight from the movies but I never saw Star Wars as going for any "punk" theme that includes out of place looking technology.
I figure that when episode IV was in production most people probably felt like they were just making another sci-fi movie and a few generic gun props wouldn't go amiss.
It basically suffers from the same thing as Titanfall.
Core gameplay is pretty fun, visuals are great, but content is severely lacking and feels like it was put out too early and you're expected to pay out the ass for another year's worth of it, assuming you haven't gotten bored already.
Seems like a fault of EA's management, to be honest. If Titanfall and Battlefront had released a bit later with much more content than they had on release (including a not half-assed single player campaign), more people would be loving them.
While Battlefront has potential (like Titanfall did), I see the player base for it dying out fairly soon, maybe only having spikes whenever it gets sold for massive discounts on Origin.
It's still pretty cool that they used so many old guns and props in the movies to create entirely new yet semi-sorta familiar weapons.
tbh the only real defense i've seen for it is "it's so authentic! the blasters are inaccurate just like the movies and the fighter combat looks kinda like the movies!"
Except all the fighter combat in the movies took place exclusively in space and the new Battlefront has nothing in space.
The new Star Wars movie seems like it will have a lot of spaceship dog fighting in atmosphere which is odd since they are space ships. Hopefully, it's just fun enough to make me stop overthinking it.
ANyone acting like somehow your purchase actually matters is seriously deluded in just how much the gaming public will gobble this shit up.
Call of Duty has been going on for how long and still sells?

There's not really much you can do against the tide of literal fanboys or kids who get it from their parents except setting a standard for yourself of not purchasing from certain companies.

If swbstats are anything to go by, the game doesn't seem to be doing that well
Perhaps not on PC, but the numbers on Xbone and PS4 are decent.
Stats just mean people still playing.
There are still probably tons of people who bought it.

Well considering Gamestop repeatedly lowered their expectations prior to launch and the game still fell short of their expectations, and EA's stock dropped 5% after the release when it was projected to skyrocket if Battlefront sold well, it definitely doesn't seem to be doing amazingly well.
I liked it when I didn't have to pay anything for it. I'll wait on it and when cheaper (about $30 and maaaybe the season pass) I'll pick it up. but by then people will have probably abandoned it for battlefront 37 or whatever
Oh Jeez the PC version has already dropped below the population of BF4, even before they put the older titles on sale for Black Friday

CoD isn't shit, it's a solid game, just it's been very very similar year after year. But at least they try to do new things each iteration. Battlefront is simply just bad.
But at least it's a good game, just too similar year after year for $60+. If you bought one of the games in the series then it might be worth it to you if you don't have many if any other CoD games.
bf4 lives another year, woo!
I'm completely okay with this.

For reference, EA is expecting Battlefront to sell 13 million copies by March 2016, which is an increase from their original 10 million expected copies
Another fucking case of style over substance. You're basically paying a premium to look at pretty things these days.
I just can't understand how the devs could go so wrong with the gameplay design. It's like they took a look at battlefront 2 and said "It lacks explosions!".
We're seeing over and over that the complexity and balance of a game is so important to keep things interesting. And yet they went for a running and gunning game in which barely any skill is needed.
I think this is buyers remorse already kicking in, because holy shit buddy you take criticism towards the game personally harder than a developer of the game would
Sounds like my friend who preordered destiny and claims it's great but can't tell me anything good about it or why I should play it

Blops III is probably the best value I've gotten out of a CoD game since MW2. Co-op campaign, zombies, and zombie campaign. Not to mention it's getting mod tools.
Battlefront looks really incredible, there is denying in that. The way you run down a corridor and you got these lasers flying around and sparks emitting all over the place looks and feels fantastic but after seeing it for the hundredth time it can get boring.
I'd still much rather go and play Battlefront II because it's obvious that 2015 Battlefront cannot live up to previous titles. Battlefront II for example has a lot more maps, space battles, a fuckton of heroes, both Clone Wars and Original Trilogy eras, space battles, bots on multiplayer maps that literally makes the game playable as a big co-op title, space battles. The game is old, the game may not be as good as I thought it was a couple of years back, but I still believe it's a much better title than this game. Battlefront just has way less content offered.
Personally I have been really enjoying Battlefront because it is a very casual FPS. I have a disability that gives me very poor hand eye coordination so my aim is pretty shit. Battlefront is great for me because the skill ceiling is so low that I can actually kill people and enjoy it. I also love Star Wars.
I do understand why it would be frustrating for more competitive players though.
Like he said, the original battlefronts did everything this game is trying to do way better, it's pathetic. It just has modern graphics on its fewer maps, vehicles, and gameplay variety.
I bet that's why EA reboots everything. They know they can't compete with the old games.

I can forgive the aim gun play my self ( I think I may have the same issue as you now that I think about how many fuck ups on C:SS/C"SGO ) but they needed bigger maps space battles ( prequels ) and it should have played more like a reskin of battlefield,.
Sounds like my friend who preordered destiny and claims it's great but can't tell me anything good about it or why I should play it
because its a casual fps game that is really easy to get into like said above. My father loves it to death because hes shit at controls but its simple enough for him to play it and its like hes in the movies to him. Im sorry people think i should hate myself for enjoying it for the same reasons, but i already stated why i enjoy it.
-i got it for $30 not $110 so to me it was a great deal of fun for $30
-i dont take the game competitive at all with the skill ceiling being so low, shit i still have fun losing as long as it isnt a total spawncamp fest.
-though there's few weapons, all of them are canon and all act differently from each other with their roles being completely different to each other (unlike bf3/4 that has 100 weapons with only like 10 being viable, this goes with gadgets/starcards too)
Its basically everything I loved in 1943 but with a starwars skin, more weapons, and some more maps which for $30 is fine with me since ive gotten my money's worth already. I can see why some people are mad but holy hell i love the posts saying i got buyers remorse when i had loads more buyer's remorse with blops 3 since i cant even run the fucking thing on low, but Battlefront on ultra.
Not a bad deal for $30, but the point is that it is a bad deal for $60.
I honestly don't think the lack of content is the problem. The problem is the game is just fucking so boring. I played it for a few hours until I had to put the controller down because the game is just so bland, it has nothing going for it.
Guns all feel exactly the same, and I never felt there was any "oh shit" moments while playing.
Uh, that's bad luck for you then because I've had so many intense moments in this game in the past week lol
uhhh except 1943 was a $15 arcade game and this is a $60 triple A game with a $50 season pass so please excuse me if don't see the similarities?
you'll probably start realizing what everyone is talking about in a month or two
or maybe a couple of weeks
Wait a second. 1943 had 3 maps for 15 bux, we get 4 for 60?
Fucking inflation.

It's 12 maps. Plus the extra 2 next week.
