From the DPR Korea FAQ:
4. Can I work in North Korea as a teacher/interpreter/(other)?
No.
Best Q&A ever.
I've read something on Wikipedia that Kim doesn't exactly hate the US. He says that after reunification, the United States bases can stay on the Korean peninsula.
You sound like you are writing a cheesy war game storyline. I LIVE in South Korea and on top of that, I LIVE in Seoul. This whole thing has been blown the hell up by the Western Media. The Koreans here are not anywhere near scared of Kim Jong Il or North Korea.
I was here during the 2006 and 2008 nuclear tests and missle launches and nothing ever came of that, South Korea initiated small levels of sanctions and nothing ever came of it. You are overestimating the North Koreans. Their soldiers are all 5'2 people and are very frail compared to South Koreans, in an all out war, South Korea and allies would steamroll them into the ground. I know what they look like, Ive looked at North Koreans face to face before, I know they cant do shit.
My father worked 10 years in Korea as a part of the Defensive Grid located on all the bases and also as a Military Strategist, he said theres no way they will do anything to risk having their nation fall into nothingness.
So calm down, you dont understand anything on this conflict except what the news shows you and what your creative mind wants to think.

This, but I have to wait like 2 more years, damn it. :frown:
I only have one to go, but I can join right away if I really wanted since I have parental consent.
I'm waiting to wake up, check the 'In The News' and a see a thread called "North Korea Declares War" with forty pages.
I have heard that the SK have uncovered several tunnels, and they say there are many more. Anyone think they will use it to strike?
The tunnels are years old, they found a few about 20 30 years ago, but yeah the idea was at in a moments notice the tunnels would be filled, a bomb would blow the last part of the tunnel and millions of North Koreans (supposedly 1 in 17 people are in them military and per person, their military is largest) would pour into south Korea

They are still in a war... peace was never declared only a ceasefire agreement.
I've been waiting ever since.

We all know this. Every single thread there are at the very least three or four posts pretaining to the Non-Aggression Pact (Which North Korea today declared null and void)
Just because you also know a random bit of fact that the rest of us already know doesn't mean you should go throwing it around everytime someone mentions 'declare war' because for all intent and purposes we understand what it means when someone says 'declare war'
Concentration camps were only discovered when the war was almost over.
Ah damn, your right. Now I remeber that fact.
Still, WW2, Hitler wanted to take over all of Europe, and if had that, he would have moved onto the West. Once again we (the public) had a reason everybody could sympathise with. We didn't want the war heading to our soil. But in this case, we know it's mainly money releated, to keep trade etc.

Germany would have never invaded the USA lol.
Shit.
North and South Korea have been having conflicts like this before, and even more extreme ones than recent, and yet we haven't had another Korean war yet. I wouldn't be worried.
NATO ( North Atlantic Treaty Organization) wouldn't do shit. Their primary concern in security in Europe. It's basically the US, South Korea and probably the JSDF who are going to be involved against the North.
Fine ANZUS will help.

I'm certain you've posted this for ways to deal with the Middle East.
We can't drop a nuke on NK, The hospitals and healthcare are almost non-existent, there is no way we could treat millions of injured civilians.
To be honest I wouldn't mind going to help South Korea.
And yet, I'm enlisting into the U.S. Army, as a paratrooper, I wonder what will become of me.

LOL dangerous website alert LOL
I'm really laughing at the few people in this thread that are a hair string away from arguing that the North Korean Military could actually give the American Military a real fight.
If a strong insurgency formed following the conflict they may be capable of pulling an Iraq, but it's very unlikely that their Military can do anything significant with its current doctrine.
You've also got to keep in mind that one of the main reasons that the Iraqi Insurgency became so powerful following the coalition invasion was how unstable it made the entire country. Following an armed conflict which US/SK would presumably win we can reasonably say that the South Korean government would take the lead on rehabilitating the North.. Maybe even reunification. Part of me thinks that in that scenario it would be more similar to the reunification of East and West Germany, but this last bit is just theory.

I know, it's so fucking funny. "OH NO, THEY HAVE TOTAL FAITH IN KIM JONG IL, OH NOOOOOO". That doesn't do jack. And the other funny part is how everyone thinks that China will help them, which wouldn't happen, because they hate the N. Koreans and they enjoy the economic relationship with us too much. If N Korea got in a war now, Good bye N. Korea.

Honestly i'm somewhat wondering how you're saying this when those same starving crazies grandfathers drove the ROK and UN forces all the way down to the Pusan Perimeter. Sure they lack technology, aren't as well trained, and most likely a good chosen few of them aren't exactly the most loyal supporters but they are absolutely fucking batshit insane. I mean honestly these are the same fucking people who test biological and chemical weapons on children and prisoners alike.
Your second bit about how you stared down a North Korean and he couldn't do shit is about the same idea we had with the Japanese during WWII with all those racial comics. Those fuckers put up a fight and we had to learn a lesson the hard way. Same thing with Vietnam. Don't underestimate a fanatical enemy like them, ever.

But the missiles don't even go that far.
NK Said it could reach Hawaii
Bullshit.

Seoul is possible and far more likely but they wouldn't be able to produce a nuclear warhead or a capable missile in time.
