The US didn't join WWII to save the Jews or look like knights. The US joined because of investments(money). War is run by money.
No, we joined because we were attacked, then Hitler and Mussolini declared war on us, we had no choice.
Seoul is possible and far more likely but they wouldn't be able to produce a nuclear warhead or a capable missile in time.
Oh well, they both have rockets they can blast at each other for hours on the DMZ, as well as artillery and things like that.
Hitler and Mussolini declared war because of pacts they had with the Japanese primarily as protection against the USSR, effectively making Japan part of their alliance. Also because there was British and other European stuff still all over Southeast Asia and in the Pacific at that time.
The motivation of the public for the war, as well as fighting back against invaders was to crush Fascism. Unfortunately this eagerness got a bit mixed up with the Cold War that followed and a ton of less bright Americans had Hitler and Communism on the same side of the scale. Which is why right wing nutjobs compare Obama to Hitler for being slightly LEFT wing.
Anyway... Korean War 1.5, The best case is that full scale war doesn't break out. If that is too much then we can hope that the USA doesn't feel the need to rush to the South's aid. If it's left as a war just among the two Koreas then it's going to work itself out at the cost of far fewer lives than if the US gets involved. If the US gets involved then other countries are likely to get involved. And China... Well then the fate of the world would be in their hands.
