Accutane - Cures acne, can cause horrible death. Worth it?

I got prescribed with Roaccutane earlier today. I just took the first pill a couple of minutes ago. 20mg a day. Let's play a fun game called "Observe the sideaffects"
My Brother had horrible acne and took this. In less than a year his face looks much better and he's experienced no side effects whatsoever beside chapped lips. I'd say it worked for him but there are still risks for others.
Been on it for 10 or so days. I don't really mind the chapped lips. Shit on self is coming and going. Body acne is drying up. Besides the chapped lips I get lower back pain here and there sometimes if I get up after sitting or laying down. I also get the occasional joint popping. So yeah nothing serious or perma as far as I can tell.

Keep us updated on progress. Especially when the initial outbreak occurs.

When you get boils in your anus let us know
Well I'm sure that if the side effects were common then it wouldn't be approved or even close to as popular. It sounds like you're pretty serious about getting rid of that shit, so I would say give it a try.
Helpful hint: eating better/exercise helps a ton, and isn't just good for curing acne. Good luck.
I just woke up and took a shower an hour ago. Right now, I don't see any side affects to be honest. My lips aren't chapping yet, but that's because I've been applying lip balm to it. Maybe it will take a while for them to kick in?
My cousin took this and experienced no side effects whatsoever. Not sure how common side effects are but that's got be pretty lucky.
I was offered accutane when my acne was really bad - I opted not to and stayed on lymecycline. I stayed on for 3 months and it cleared up well enough. I had to go back on the antibiotics every winter, where my acne got far worse.
I'm 20 now and acne is pretty much gone. I still get spots, but nowhere near as bad as the last 5 years
I hear this stuff works as rapid as Accutane, Little to no side effects, Bit Dearer though.

Holy crap... So worth it!
I was never told about those side effects. Took it for 3 months. Cleared up skin. Didn't die.
"Everything is poison, there is poison in everything. Only the dose makes a thing not a poison."
I take Accutane and my lips are chapped as fuck. That's about it though. No depression because I counter it with Paxil normally taken for anxiety.
I'm on my second run on Accutane. 6 months of taking it, 10 months between, and now I'm about 4 months in to the second treatment.
Don't take it if you've had problems with depression before-hand. I've had nothing but a constant stream of suicidal thoughts for the last two/three years, even when not taking it.
It may or may not be related to Accutane, but I'm also having rectal bleeding. I've been recommended to a Gastroenterologist this Saturday.
I had the rectal bleeding (while on accutane, but was light and persisted before the medication). Turns out it was a hemrroid
I used Roaccutane which is basically the same thing, it worked phenominally, I became incredibly depressed during the treatment because that's a side effect but good God did it work.
It took me over 5 years to qualify for the NHS course of Roaccutane, my appearance at that point has had long term effects on my confidence as I was hideous (now I'm bad looking but without spots), I may post a before and after but it's not terribly necessary, just imagine a face with every centimetre containing a spot going to a face with none.
Get a hot and soapy wash cloth and wash your face before bed, then put a clean and dry towel on your pillow. Do this for a week or two then come back and share the results. This cleared me of all my acne and you should at least try it before taking drastic measures and resorting to crap like Accutane.
Ye in other words if you have a wash it will go away like everyone else that washes.

I wash my face three times a day, including applying basiron both morning/evening and all my acne still doesn't go away.
