Accutane - Cures acne, can cause horrible death. Worth it?

Don't listen to the people that say don't take it, don't consult a webforum on wither you should take a strong medicine or not?
Go to your doctor and ask him, he should have all the answers.
But if I had to give an opinion, if the acne is as bad as you say it is, take that shit.
Seriously, this thing is a wonder drug.
I would take it. Most people I've seen are doing fine with it.
When you take the drug, lots and lots of exercise is key to keeping your liver functions intact.

Also stay away from caffeine
Take it, be rewarded money.
You've seen those recall announcements about every five minutes on TV, haven't you?
But in all seriousness, first you should try this shit:

And if it's all fucking over, get several bottles, dump them into a bowl, and then stick your face in it.
Of course, I've never had a case of acne as bad as you're saying you have.
Get a hot and soapy wash cloth and wash your face before bed, then put a clean and dry towel on your pillow. Do this for a week or two then come back and share the results. This cleared me of all my acne and you should at least try it before taking drastic measures and resorting to crap like Accutane.
I had the chance to choose this or milder anti acne stuff. I was to scared to take accutane because I already have insanely thin hair and a bit more and I would be bald, psychic problems and heavy depression so I obviously said no (I was 16) I am 18 and I am still using some cream alike stuff which helps and also dries but haves almost no negative side effects.
The thing that still pisses me off is that the redness takes FOR-fucking-EVER to go away, I wish it would just disappear for me so I can get used to the scars that my acne left me and don't care bout the stupid redness anymore

Heard it really helps, gonna do this from today on you reminded me  thank you man.
Clean your greasy face for once and stop thinking of taking stupid shit like this. You're going to fuck yourself up even more.
Take it.
Death is a small side effect for looking good.
I'm fairly certain some attractive woman still remembers some guy she met for five seconds at a convention one time. I'm certain.
We'll be fine we're practically married apart from the fact we're not.

Interesting.
So I'll wake up and be like "Holly shit my acne is bad"
then three months later I'll be like "Woah that Accutane is clearing it up"
When in reality it's just fixing the mess it started?
No, it'll be like "Grr this is slightly worse than normal." and then three months later it'll be "HOLY SHIT WHERE IS ALL THE ACNE?" I had horrible genetic acne to begin with, it flared up and got a little worse because the medicine was forcing it all out, and then everything was gone.
Oh right, don't drink alcohol while on it.
Unless you want liver failure.
Also, avoid sun otherwise you get pigmentation spots

I've heard this too - the reason it works being because as you smash your face into the pillow every night the germs get smooshed into the fabric, so having a clean layer between your (clean) face and the pillow stops the transmission of bacteria. While I haven't used this myself given my acne miraculously cleared itself up, if it did come back with a vengeance I'd try this method before any creams. or pills.

I never got sunspots, just burned a whole lot easier.
And to the people going "Derp wash your face." You've got no idea who this stuff is aimed at, do you really think doctors would be offering this stuff to people who could just go and start washing their face regularly to solve it?
But seriously, talk to your doctor, all asking on a forum is going to get you is "OMG IT CAN KILL YOU DON'T TAKE IT." When in reality sudden death is a rare but serious side effect on just about every major prescription drug, because it's tested on thousands of people before release, and if even one of them dies, even from something unrelated, unless they can prove the medicine didn't cause it, it has to be listed to cover liability.

This man knows what he is talking about

Yeah, it runs in my family, that's exactly why I took it, it's meant for severe cases like that, I tried everything, Proactive, Neutrogena, everything under the sun before my dermatologist would recommend it.
Sunlight. Go outside, sit in the sun for an hour a day. Then soap, lots of it and shower twice a day. Change your pillow every night and so on.
There are some people that won't be affected by the above at all and need Acutane, but it's like with the genetic obesity, some really are, but chances are you aren't and you're just fat because you eat too much.
If none of the above works/worked, then try acutane if the acne really is that bad (but heavy drugs should always be a lost resort).

Weird creams suck dick
[editline]10th June 2011[/editline]
I swear the creams do NOTHING and sometimes make it WORSE
is that another name for Roaccutane
if so it was prescribed to me
Acne is temporary. Blindness is not.
I know someone who had this drug and it cleared all his acne up within a few weeks to a month.

Accutane turns you ginger?
I'm in the same debacle as you, but I've been on Minocycline for 2months or something close to that and 90 percent of pimples have stopped popping up but I have horrible scarring everywhere since I waited so long.

Sunlight is horrible for acne and none of this shit works it is why people are prescribed this kind of shit like Accutane or an antibiotic.
I wiki'ed Accutane and it turns out it is chemotherapy drug. Nasty stuff

This. Oh and people freaking out over the potential side effects should seriously take a look other medications and their respective potential side effects, they list a lot of stuff that very rarely occur.
wow those side effects are much fucking worse than acne, even the common ones. Don't take it you idiot.
