I'm going to Buffalo next year for my 19th birthday, guess what I'm doing.
Coming to my house to party? :v:
I'd pass on the Scorpion. I own a TM MP7 AEP, and it uses the same gearbox as the Scorpion. FPS is sub 250fps, almost worthless unless you're clearing rooms. Past 50 feet or so it's pretty much worthless. I've made way more kills at much further ranges with a $60 DE M1014 shotgun than I have with the $220 TM MP7.
Stick with the shotgun for now, it will serve you well. Oh and just a heads up, I've heard that some users of these shotguns use .25g bbs to prevent it from over-hopping (bbs curving up). I myself use .20g bbs and it flies straight for me. It seems to vary from gun to gun. Just thought I'd let you know.
So I get the shotgun with the full stock then? Will do. It'll be cheaper anyhow. I'll maybe shovel snow to get a couple bucks so I can get a primary weapon like an M4. Or should I just stick with the shptty fpr now?

A review for the DE Full Stock claims that the effective range for the shotgun is 30-35 feet. Is that true?
If I were you I would get a job and get some more cash before buying a gun. Get something that will last.
if you play woodland why would you buy a spring shotgun? why not a spring rifle like a bar-10 or atleast a mp-001?
Well it sounds like his first gun so I don't think a sniper rifle is his best bet as his first.

No. Hold off on a sniper rifle until you have an AEG first.
I don't even plan on being a sniper anyways.
I'm not telling him to snipe... you can use bolt action rifles as the same role as an assault rifle given the terrain and if it is indeed a woodland area, I think, a reliable and powerful rife is a lot better suited than a DE springer shotgun. I'm not telling him to go out and buy a scope, bipod, and a ghillie suit. Just my .02
I honestly do not know what the fields are like. I know that there are a few CQB fields around but for outside, I dunno. I can imagine they are woodland because that's what our area is famous for.
Find the forums for your airsoft community. I haven't heard of 1 airsoft field that doesn't have a forum based for it, or even multiple forums. Just like theres like 50 different NY Airsoft Communitys but we all use the same fields.

Go to the nearest field or indoor-field and get rental stuff (if they have rentals), then start saving for a better quality gun.
and just for laughs from the COD Section

a 50 cal isnt a gun im sorry please try again
Sniper Rifles fall under the class of guns smart arse.
At least google search it to see if you're right before you post crap.
‏
One of the many reasons why CoD is bad; it makes people think they know something about weapons.
someone told me that irl it takes like 10 shots from an M4/m16 to get someone down. And if you shot someone with a .50 it wouldn't bring them down inless it was upper torso or head.
Oh now look at this quote.

The .50 cal sucks at long range due to the accuracy lacking and it sucks at short range due to recoil.
Anyways, the M21 is a superior choice in all scenarios.
how does it suck at long range, it's a sniper rifle.
seriously, how is accuracy an issue? you point and shoot. your bullets follow your crosshair. i don't see how the accuracy is worse then any other sniper.
‏
People who think they know about guns from games :v
Gotta love it.

Effective range is a lot further than that. I can mow down groups running at me from over 100 feet away with a minimal amount of arc if any.
Better yet, just watch my helmet cam footage. It gives you an idea how far I'm shooting some of these people with a shotgun.

Ender, you reminded me to get my helmet/gun cam ready.
I already have all the parts sans the most important part. I have the camera lens, the mic, on/off button, I have everything except the wires that connect the camera and the camera lens. Without it, I can't do anything.

What the hell was your team doing in that video? They were just standing there while you rushed ahead. Were they a bunch of new players or what?
we got rid of our M14 Receivers so now we just have M14 wooden stocks, Buttplates, bolts flashiders.
I have a chance at getting some of the parts and a couple of stocks for really cheap and fit one of the stocks onto a Cyma or AGM. We might also order two Cyma's and remove the internals and use those as Color guard rifles.
M14's are beautiful.

Damn, what kind? I have one too but it is black. That one looks great.
Thanks. Its a G&G M14. Mine originally was black but I got a walnut wood stock for Christmas. It feels so much nicer then the plastic.
I had a choice of either the tactical black or the shitty plastic wood. Even the store owner agreed that the wood looks like crap. I wanted a G&G M14 at first but then I just finally went with a CA. But now that I look back it might have been better to wait for the G&G.
CA is pretty close to the G&G from what I've heard, its a clone of it and CA is pretty nice from what I know.
Garand>M14
^Agreed with every fiber of my heart and soul.
This is true but for airsoft, a M14 is more practical for skirmishes.
01/14/2010 Case Closed disregard previous order comments:
shipped 1-14-10
CA AK Sportline SA M-7
tracking number: notforu
That was a fast prize shipment

Well that is nice to know. My friend told me CA internals are shit but I don't exactly trust him on some things.
I got the CA because I had the money in cash and didnt want to go through the trouble of ordering it online. I'm going to be using it as a designated marksman sort of rifle, upgrade the spring on it and use .23's or .25's for longer range.
