I tried to get a game going this weekend. That was shot down s: Game over, maybe next weekend. [editline]08:45PM[/editline] Attempt number two ended in no one replying :C [editline]09:08PM[/editline] I'm going through some serious airsoft withdrawl. [editline]09:59PM[/editline] Anyway, on a completely unrelated note. Do fields typically accept glasses as eye protection or do they require you to wear something over them? Ontop of which, any tips of keeping goggles from fogging?
The field near me sometimes doesn't accept glasses as protection so I wouldn't risk it
Do fields typically accept glasses as eye protection or do they require you to wear something over them? Ontop of which, any tips of keeping goggles from fogging?
You'll have to check with your local fields on whether they accept glasses, goggles, or require full facemasks. I'd recommend at least goggles, and if you're going to wear goggles wear a mouthguard too. Would suck to lose a tooth.
I wrote up a bit of a rule-list. I'm going to run a game with a bunch of my friends, five or six next weekend. It may not happen, but I have three people on board so far. Tell me if I'm missing anything. These people have never played airsoft or have only done so once or twice with springer, so keep that in mind.
All attending the Airsoft game are required to provide themselves the following: * Transporation to-and-from * Eye Protection - This is absolutely required. Anyone who shows up lacking eye wear will not be allowed to play. (Spare Eye Protection will be issued on a firt-come first-serve basis.) Eye Protection includes but is not limited too - Work Goggles, Paint Ball Masks, Glasses (Assuming there would be no regret in losing them), welding masks etc. NO GLASS! * Neck/Face Protection. (Optional but HIGHLY encouraged.) * Gloves (Optional but once again, HIGHLY encouraged.) * Water bottle(s) * Airsoft Gun (This may range from a cheap spring pistol to anything thereafter. Spare weapons will be distrupted on a first-come first-serve basis) * Gear (This includes uniforms, vests, helmets, hats, etc. Spare gear will be first-come first-serve) * IMPORTANT NOTICE (Five Dollars ($5) will be collected for Rental Gear. Upon return of said gear and guns in proper condition this money will be returned. If weapons or gear is heavily damanged debit will incure. A few key rules that MUST be followed above all else, failure to abide by said rules will result from suspension from the game. * Eye Protection MUST be worn at ALL TIMES during gameplay. No exceptions. * If for any reason you have an issue with your Eye-Wear, call a TIME OUT and move to a safe place before fixing them. * When one calls a Time-Out and or is without his Eye-Wear engaging said target is STRICTLY against the rules and will result in suspension. * Gameplay does not start until the Game Admin calls "Game-On, Game-On" Subsquently it does not end until "Game-Off, Game-Off" however anyone is free to call a Time-Out or Cease Fire. * If you fire upon a player and said player requests you cease fire you must do so that instant. Failure to do so is suspension. * All weapons must remain on 'Safety' in the Staging Area or an subsiquent area that is not the playing field, or if a Safety is not avaliable on said weapon must be unloaded with a clear chamber. No exceptions. * The only possible target on a person is their center of gravity. IE: Their chest and legs. Groin and headshots are discouraged. We encourage proper protection for both face and body. * Do not point your weapons at anyone until after the game has started. (Failure to follow this rule will result in your weapon being taken away, depending on circumstances you will not play that round.) * Respect Rental Gear! If you have been issued temporary Gear or Weapons treat it with as much care as you would your properity. * Physical Contact is against the rules. * Do not shoot unarmed players or animals. * Do not damage property. IE: Vehicles, buildings etc. * If you're hit anywhere on the body you must shout "HIT!" failure to call hits will pull you out of the round. Continued offense will result in suspension. Game-Rules may apply to circumstance. * If you're within ten-feet of a player whoever calls "Safety-Kill" will cause the other to call a hit. This is a safety percaution for those who own weapons over 200+ FPS. If a group of players run into eachother within ten-feet of eachother an equal number of players from both teams will take hits. * One player on each team will be a medic assuming numbers permit such. When you take a hit you will lay for two minutes. In this time a medic can drag you to safety and revive you. If medic does not arrive you will leave the field and wait five minutes before you re-enter or round restarts. * If a BB hits your weapon it is no longer useable. Side-Arms will be used or the player will preform a non-combat role.

I wrote up a bit of a rule-list. I'm going to run a game with a bunch of my friends, five or six next weekend. It may not happen, but I have three people on board so far. These people have never played airsoft or have only done so once or twice with springer, so keep that in mind.
There shouldn't be shot-placement rules regarding the body (IE: headshots) since they almost always get abused. What if someones head or leg is the only thing exposed? And why would intentional leg shots be suspendable? And holy shit dude, none of this "work goggles, glasses" shit. Only allow full sealing ANSI impact rated stuff.
The head is too vulnerable. I rather not anyone shoot it, regardless protection or not. As same for the groin. I'll change the leg part.
* The only possible target on a person is their center of gravity. IE: Their chest. Groin or Head-Shots result in instant suspension. Accidental Leg-Shots are forgivable unless it is discovered to be intentional.
Would get rid of this. Groin, honestly it doesn't hurt if you're wearing anything thicker than sweatpants. You should just discourage headshots, and encourage facewear.
Changed it to chest and legs. As I said previously I feel the head and groin are too vulnerable. [editline]01:46AM[/editline] Also changed it to repeated hits to those areas -may- result in suspension.

And what if you fire a burst and all the rounds plaster the person? Trust me, it happens. Getting hit is part of the game, if they cant take the pain, they can go cry with their nerf guns. Also look back to my previous pos regarding eye protection.
Okay, changed it completely. You guys know more then I do.
Snip
to be honest, just copy paste the rules from another site, or at least change it a bit, not like it's copyrighted... I'd use www.socalairsoft.com under their fields to play at section
What about arms?
Friend is selling his G&G MP5 (it's worth ~$250 + a few mags) for a much lower price (I'm not sure how much yet) and I'm wondering if i should get it. Of course the decision will mostly be based off of how much he's selling for, but I kinda like the idea of getting a $250 backup (or, more likely, use my G3 as the backup) gun for cheap. What he's offering: G&G PM5-A4 1 High Cap 1 Broken High Cap (could probably fix) 4-5 Midcaps Updating with asking price later.
G&G guns are awesome. Get it.
Why are GBB M60s so expensive? $2100?
the answer is in your question... gas blowback and m60
But the M60 part shouldn't be that expensive. Does it just kick really hard?
well considering an Inokatsu M60 shell costs around $1400 in CONUS then add the cost of a GBB system and labor you get well over $2000
Keep in mind they don't exactly mass produce them either like the Chinese M4's, and they don't use a lot of standard parts like other guns. This all makes the price per part go up significantly.
GBB + M60 = Oh god yes.
recoil weights out the ass on it.
That seems pretty cool, albeit useless.
I'd buy it if I had an adjustable stock on my M4.
it shakes the gun, not acutally provide recoil
Doesn't matter. I don't seem to see any games in the future for target practice it's just a fun gimmick.
I'd get it if I didn't: 1. Already have an electric blowback CA M4 2. Use Lipo's inside my buffer tube.
Eh. In the end its still a whimpy sounding AEG. I would rather have a GBBR.
It's also too big and heavy. Don't you have an M60 anyway Timebomb?
Classic GBBR- Makes your gun sound like a sewing machine.
