Going to a local militaria fair tomorrow - not really expecting much in terms of soviet/russian gear, will probably just be ww2 memorabilia (medals/stamps/miscellaneous tat), but I'll keep my eyes open and report any finds here.

Wrong thread but I'll help ya out anyway. I've heard great things about the CA M15's but I'm not sure what the difference is between the normal one and the sportline one. Can't say anything about the red dot but if you do get one be sure to get a lens protector.

My friend has that RDS, it's crap. He can't see it until it gets dark on the highest setting. Sportline CA guns are cheaper because they're worse. Proline guns are better, but cost more. I don't know anything about that particular gun though.

Oh my bad, I searched airsoft and found this thread. So I should maybe look for a different red dot? Because I'm on a budget (meaning I need as much money for apparel after I buy the gun xD) and I don't want to have to buy another thing just to keep the sight in good shape. Yeah I'm just getting into airsoft so I don't want to buy super duper tacticool stuff that's 500 dollars yet. The CA M15 sportlines are fine, just be careful with it. It has a plastic body as do a lot of other entry level M4's, and a common problem is the upper receiver tabs snapping. When this happens, the upper receiver will pivot on the front pin and won't lock into place. I would recommend a metal bodied CA sportline, but they don't have the value package version. Another good option would be the G&G Combat Machine series. They're plastic bodies as well, but they have been proven to be extremely durable. Hopefully they won't have the broken receiver tab issue. Keep in mind you'll need to buy a battery and charger for these guns. [url]http://www.airsoftgi.com/index.php?cPath=139_24_237[/url]

I agree with Darksamus, there's nothing wrong with iron sights although the second this gun ban ends, I'm buying a sniper rifle with a telescopic scope.

All of the members of the military who I have talked to have told me that they dislike ACU and would opt any day to wear Multicam over it.

they said that anyone who's going to afghanistan will get multicam, as in its not going to be standard issue, yet. you know what would actually make multicam the most bitchin camo ever? make a woodland and arid version of it.

Okay so I got back from an airsoft game. Here's the story: As soon as I got out the door I slipped and fell on my ass in front of my house. I staggered to the car and we took off to the game. When I got there I got out of the car I immediately went to find this guy teddy bear who owed me a hug for making him some userbars. I found him, received my hug, and went to get my gun chrono'd. To my surprise my DBoys AK shot 320 fps, much lower than what I expected from a clone, In a good way. When we set out to the field my ass was still in pain but I decided to live with it and play. The first four rounds where pretty usual, nothing special happened. TanFor (mine) won three of them. On the fifth round my group was crossing a bog. Everyone made it safely, except for me and this guy Son of Liberty. We got stuck very well. We called in help from the organizers and a few teammates to help us out but we where in the center of the bog and they didn't want to get stuck too. Son of Liberty got out after ~30 minutes but I was still stuck. The organizers got a pic of me sitting waist deep in bog (will post links to the album once it's been uploaded). Eventually Son of Liberty came to my rescue and tugged me out, and then falling on his ass and busting is radio. I am now at home with a broken ass bone, possibly ruined Multicam, and a G&G CQBR that has a great chance of rusting very soon. Best day of airsoft in my life.
