I've never noticed it before but I think I use 'mate' a fair bit. I usually use it when I'm retelling a story or describing what I'm doing. "Just hangin' at a mate's house" sort of thing.
You do know that the Josef Fritzl case happened in AUSTRIA. Not Australia, right?
That's the joke.
i rarely say mate
I say it all the time.

Australia has flying spider bat fish :arghfist::saddowns:
There have been lots of threads about Australia of late. Is it because it's winter and there's nothing better to do than proclaim national pride? And OP is surely trolling because it's too obvious a double standard for him not to have thought that all peoples have roots in other continents.
i rarely say mate
There's this Asian guy in my school who constantly says "mate" and honestly, if you listened to him without knowing what he looked like, you'd think he was a bogan. It's scary. :ohdear:
Austrolio and Austrolions. :eng101:
:australia: [editline]09:20PM[/editline] I'm Australian and I don't think I've ever said mate.
Then you are not Aussie. Every real Aussie has used it atleast 100 times properly.
You also call Aboriginals the "true Aussies", not taking into note that their is a second major Indigenous group in Australia: The Torres Strait Islanders. OP is dumb.
I'm Australian 100% and I'm not counted as a 'true Aussie' Aboriginals and Fobs make some parts of Australia look really bad(Brisbane, Queensland).
Austrolio and Austrolions. :eng101:
I can only read that in a New Zealand accent.
I never say mate :saddowns:
