If you want an example of some good game analsis people, check out the Extra Credits dudes. Yeah they aren't infallible and I don't agree with them all the time, but they do what critics should do. Go through as much content from the medium as possible, reach an understanding as to what makes the medium work at it's core and in it's different genres, and then analyze the content by going through it and making a number of marked observations and assumptions. Just go watch their Call of Juarez review. That's criticism.

Yeah most if not all of those "OMG [game] is so sexist WTF is wrong with [developer]?" tweets are bogus. The one about HL2 couldn't even exist on twitter because it's too long.
