My back window was broken...I hit a tree...drove around with it like that for months and as far as I can tell nothing was ever stolen...I just cut some plexiglass to size and mounted it in and caulked it. Fuck paying $80 for a window on a beat to piss '92 truck
Brb reinstalling firefox because i cannot see pics
My dads car was broken into when I was 13, they stole his laptop. Of course I forgot to take the cd I was last using in there.
I lost all my Sims games due to them.

So your car was broken into, shit was stolen AND somebody basically stole/confiscated your whole house?
:(
Na just the garage (it's part of a block of garages all secured only by shitty padlocks)
my moms car was broken into last year while she was parked on the wolverhampton train station carpark. police didn't really do anything about it and she had to pay £100 for a window replacement, when all they took was some cd's.
Shit, yeah the police don't seem to give a shit - cash converters were more helpful as I gave them serial number and unique identifying features to look out for and they were really nice. The police actually said on the day that if the CCTV came back negative or too poor to identify that they would just file it.
To follow up - I got a new passenger side window for £70 at a breakers yard fitted in Garry country (Walsall), they even hoovered out all the glass and everything. If it was a more common car would have been like £20.

I've never had a side window replaced on my car, but I'm sure it would cost a couple hundred dollars I bet (after labor and such).
Yeah very cheap, breakers yards/scrapyards don't tend to have a set price for labour over here (especially in this industrial area, they mostly do mail order to other places in the country)- the glass itself was £42 plus a window runner (bent by the thieves) for £5 and they only charged me £20 to fit it all and hoover all the broken glass out. Done a bloody good job too :P
This just popped up on Gumtree http://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-motorbikes/pioneer-deh-1000e-cd-in-dash-receiver/87619821
trying to coax the serial number out from the user as it is in the right area and the first of the same model as mine to be listed since the theft occurred
A google of the provided phone number shows this person sure likes to sell a lot of car audio equipment... especially head units
Anyone fancy helping me out?

The description the guy put on there said it has "fascia and cage and wiring loom". Does this fit the description of what got stolen?
I know you said it's the same model, but sometimes things can be added or removed from electronical equipment.
And besides, selling head units is really fishy--usually the person who's selling the radio stole it or something. Did your unit have an anti-theft system? (like if it got disconnected, you have to enter something in to reactivate it.)
Contacted the guy acting like I was interested and he took a pic of the unit from front and back and the serial number isn't the right one :P
Indeed, typing his number into google shows he sells an awful lot of head units but also a load of subs
I've always wondered, why moderators never consider bloggish posts like these NOT bloggish.
I wasn't just telling it, I was asking for suggestions and discussing what to do as well therefore it is not "bloggish".
If you don't like my topic then I am really sorry but others seem to have participated without expressing their concern for this.
