I want a 1980's US Army Infantry loadout now with the good 'ol M81 Woodland utilities, black leather boots, ALICE rig, PASGT vest + helmet, etc. I outgrew my old Woodland fatigues, they're way too small on me now. Problem is, I can't find simple Woodland BDUs for cheap any more? All my local surplus shops have no surplus BDUs any longer, and if they do, they're expensive! Like $30 just for the blouse.

Where did you get that MOPP Suit?
My area hates military surplus stores. Nearest one is like LA.

also, question to you all:
Kneepads or no on my current loadout?? I'm thinking of ditching the kneepads because they make my legs look skinny and throw off the overall balance of the loadout
kneepads:

no kneepads:

Personally I like the kneepads.
kneepads arent for looks it to protect your damn knees which i know you knew, but safety before looks anyway, im 19 and just from sports and hiking alone and if i even touch my knees on the ground im usually gonna regret it. kneepads are meant to be worn.
How does this sound for a PMC-ish loadout?
Black BDU jacket
Khaki cargo pants
Tan plate carrier
Tan boots
Tan gunfighter cap (the thing I was wearing in the last picture I posted here) or a tan MICH 2000 w/ nightvision mount + patches
Anyone think this would look good?
I think so.
Hats are better for PMC loadouts than helmets.

Hats do not stop bullets.
Safe PMC > Dead PMC. I'll probably experiment with both and, if all else fails, throw the helmet in with my faux US army SF/TF141 impression kits.

Depends what kind of PMC. While it's true that *some* of the PSD guys opt for ballcaps, a surprising number are wearing helmets these days because frag is a very real threat and a helmet provides good protection from it.

If you add a helmet to a PMC loadout you'll probably get a TF141 loadout rather than PMC
And if you are going to add a helmet to a PMC loadout, do a MGS4 PMC :haw:

The TF141 guys intentionally bear a heavy PMC resemblance. I don't care if I end up looking like a 141 grunt, since they were probably the most amazing thing in MW2 (which I proudly do not own).

That was part of the idea behind the color scheme (saw a picture of an MGS merc and liked the idea). The helmet's got to be tan, though, not a black Pro-Tech bike helmet.
I also don't own MGS either, but that won't stop me...

The Russians in MW2 would have been better if they took time to research what Russian soldiers actually look like instead of giving them red M81 and saying "lol they look russian enough"

I dunno whether to rate funny or agree
Black ops' loadouts are even worse, the hardline perk gives you molle vests... It's the 60s ffs

The Russians in Cock of dootie 2 are wearing Swiss Apenflage camo.

Isn't it better to ask the question; do kneepads help me when airsofting or get in the way?
I know a few people who just wear one kneepad on their right knee so they can take a knee and shoot faster.
While it does look -_*0p3rat0r a$ fUCk*_-, wearing only one kneepad actually helps. If I'm taking a knee for accuracy, I only ever go on my right knee.
I wear the one kneepad on my right knee. The Hatch pads make it easier to move back and forth on one knee anyways...

I wasn't talking about the Russians?
They looked horribly unrealistic. The TF141 guys were fairly reasonable, though.
