This is what I will be wearing tomorrow to ModestoCQB's league matches, Yes that is a S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Mercenary patch on my admin pouch, my callsign is Foos because DarkSamus is too nerdy and too long to shout in the middle of battle.

Obviously, I don't carry my shotgun AND my AK74U at the same time, but these are photos, what the hell.
Also, just for kicks:

You could do a Metro 2033 loadout if you got some heavier and dirtier clothing.

i DO have the gasmask for it..

Then again it's like a hundred degrees outside so not any time soon.

I run to the enemies cover, not ours. So I need to keep lightweight.
:ohdear: aren't you concerned about ever getting hit in the ears?
Why dont you take the filter off of the gasmask, it would make it loads easier to breathe.
Why dont you take the filter off of the gasmask, it would make it loads easier to breathe.
I already hollowed the thing out, see the big-ass hole in the bottom of it?
:ohdear: aren't you concerned about ever getting hit in the ears?
Someone did shoot me in the ear and pop a blood vessel in there once, but it didn't hurt all that much, so yeah i could care less.
So I finally got the Interceptor I've wanted forever. So, first off I need to say this thing is extremely light. It's really, really light compared to my last webbing rig by UTG. So, beyond that it has shoulder guards, groin guard and a neck guard. I don't use the neck guard because you can't move your head and you feel like you're choking. I use the shoulder guards because they don't halt my arms movement at all and I don't even notice they're there, I have no problem operating a rifle or sidearm. The groin guard I don't notice either and I have it for a reason.
So, I wear it around the house all day in ACU uniform without pouches or weight. It's like a second skin after awhile and surprising I don't get very hot at all (Granted I live in New York and not California) so I run around outside, duck and roll, all kinds of crazy sit, even do some jumping jacks and I don't get hot at all even with the heat. Which is fantastic.
So today I put pouches on it, it took me a few tries to find a decent setup since I'm not used to having 'options' like on my UTG vest. I find one I like, play around with it. It's a bit bulky (This isn't a CQB rig though) so I don't really mind, I can still go prone, crouch, fire from the shoulder, sprint, jog, run, creep etc.
So far I'm extremely happy with it, it completes my look more or less. I need to get knee pads and maybe another thigh rig to fill out my legs a bit more so they don't look so off balanced but other then that I'm more or less done with this loadout.

Hydration Pack, Grenade Pouch (Double), Utility Bag.
You'll notice that the OE Tech equipment 'glows' in flash photography. Why this is, I don't know. The UTG stuff doesn't glow, nor does the Propper Jacket and Pants. It ONLY glows like that in flash photography though.

If you arent really in the Army get rid of the patches. You haven't earned the right to wear them.
All those patches are from my JROTC uniform. The US Army I bought on a trip to West Point with my Battalion.
Which just now caught my noticed that my Staff Sergeant rank (which is outdated anyway, I was promoted) is an actual rank and not a Cadet rank. (I don't know why that is, I never noticed it before, I'm pretty sure the rank on my school ACU's is a cadet rank but I couldn't say for sure.)
Those are all old patches anyway, notice the name-tag is defective. I have a new one but it's on my actual uniform.
I also don't see the harm in any of it unless I was going to McDonalds and asking for discounts and such. They're just old patches I threw on my vest.
If you don't believe me I can take pictures of my Unit Crest, LET tabs, previous ranks, etc.
I don't have the dress uniform or school ACU because I had to hand those in for the summer.
Oh, Cadet Creed Card too I have.

Sorry for the shitty quality. Those are what I have left over, for example the shoulder boards I got to keep because we don't use them anymore, the ranks are old ranks that they said I didn't need to hand it, the cadet creed card is signed my SAI, Unit Crest with school mascot, MSG. SSG. PFC. PVT. ranks and such.
If I must I could post pictures of me wearing the actual uniform.
I'd like to see the actual uniform.

I say he can wear whatever patches he wants. If he wanted to get an Israeli army patch then so be it, as long as he doesn't go around saying, "HURR DURR I'M IN ISRAELI ARMY BITCHES11!!1!!". I think you can wear whatever you want because airsoft is sort of like roleplaying with your loadout.
I wanna see codemonkey's uniform
I think you can wear whatever you want because airsoft is sort of like roleplaying with your loadout.
Most soldiers would punch you in the teeth for saying that, just FYI.
Most soldiers would punch you in the teeth for saying that, just FYI.
I know but I just think as long as your not impersonating then what is the harm?
I never say that around other airsofters anyway, just as a precaution.
If you arent really in the Army get rid of the patches. You haven't earned the right to wear them.
You're joking right? I assume you are because of the two posts you've made.
So let me get this straight. You say he should get rid of the patches, because he hasn't earned the right to wear them, even though this is a MILSIM sport? Really?
I've started my enlisting process for the Army, and guess who gave me my U.S. Army patch? My recruiter.
I don't wear it for the supposed "perks", I wear it because it means a lot to me.
So for you to say "you haven't earned it", really kind of pisses me off.
VanBuren isn't going "Hey guys! I'm U.S. Army! I want incentives!", he's playing a simulated game.
I asked my friends in the recruiting office if I could wear it, and they said it was fine, as long as I don't impersonate another Solider.
I play with a guy who was a US Army Ranger for four years and served in 11 different conflicts.
He said he could care less about the whole patches thing, just so long as they aren't trying to get free discounts or anything with them.

Its different with every person. I sure some Rangers would throw down if a non-Ranger wore their tab.
And rightfully so, its an immense honor to serve in any capacity, and that right has to be earned.

This is true, but if I wore some other military's patch no one would flip a shit. I would be willing to bet money no one in the UK would flip a shit if someone wore a US army loadout with an Army patch.
I know but I just think as long as your not impersonating then what is the harm?
Ive talked to many members of the military on this:, here are some of their opinions:
I have 12 years as an 11 Bravo and am a Staff Sergeant. I also received the CIB for close combat with enemies of the United States. My feelings on this subject are very strong, if you have not earned it don't wear it. You can still look the part with out having to wear patches or insignia that others may have sacrificed more then you can imagine to be able to wear.

Unit patches, tabs, etc. should not be worn plain and simple. If you aren't/weren't in that unit then don't wear the patch cause you'll just piss someone off

The fact is that you would be assuming credit that you have not earned. Somewhere in the world there are guys who wear that symbol with great pride
From which I come to the conclusion that I wont wear any military patches or insignia (Nametapes don't really count). Im more than happy with my RED patch anyway.
[editline]06:06PM[/editline]
This is true, but if I wore some other military's patch no one would flip a shit. I would be willing to bet money no one in the UK would flip a shit if someone wore a US army loadout with an Army patch.
Look at my last quote of the three. I specifically asked that question actually.
Edit:
And to finish it:
In light of this, is NOT wearing a patch going to ruin your experience? I don't think so...

This is true, but if I wore some other military's patch no one would flip a shit. I would be willing to bet money no one in the UK would flip a shit if someone wore a US army loadout with an Army patch.
Nobody in the UK would give a shit if you wore a UK patch/rank slides.
It's incredibly petty that people are arguing on a forum over wearing commercially available strips of material for the purpose of decoration. Airsoft is 80% fashion show, get over it. I skirmish with a lot of military guys and nobody cares.

Read the post above yours. A lot of guys DO care.
I've played with a retired Air Force Colonel. He saw a kid with an Air Force loadout. And he actually commented on how authentic it looks.
It's hit and miss. Soldiers care more if they're being impersonated or if that person is trying to get freebies.
I'm enlisting anyway. Is that Soldier going to go "Hey, don't wear that patch since you're enlisting." Probably not.
Being a Marine myself, I really don't care if they wear MARPAT with "US Marines" on it or rank insignia, its airsoft. Its not like they're telling everyone that they are a Marine, it is some what flattering that some one would think Marines are that awesome and portray them with their kit. I mean when you choose an impression you choose it because you think it is bad ass correct? I see nothing wrong with airsofters wearing military uniforms and insignia. On the other hand I don't think people should be allowed to wear dress uniforms and such, I mean there is no need for that. You don't have to earn the privlage to wear cammies, any recruit gets cammies, but you do have to earn the right to wear the dress uniform.
Yeah when i was wearing my USMC boots this guy came up to me during the game while we were in a fire fight and asked me where'd i gotten the boots from (They had the USMC emblem and were Offical Issue boots from the USMC). I told them where i got them, Ebay. You can even get them from Bates offical website. I also have a full set of MARPAT (Including cover) that's official USMC with the emblems all over it. When i start wearing ranks and patches then i understand. But just having the clothing is retarded.

This goes back to my Freshmen year, standby while I dig through my Sister's and Mom's Cameras for something more recent. But, I did earn everything on my uniform with the exception of the 3rd Infantry Patch which I will take off if it really means that much to you. But it was my Uncles, so..
[editline]04:17PM[/editline]
In addition, I'm not sure why you want me to post my uniform after I've already provided pictures of my Unit Crest and Cadet Creed Card, it's not like you can buy them or fake them. I passed the test to earn that Crest. I did my promotion boards to earn those ranks. I was a Platoon Leader, I was a Platoon Sergeant. It's all stuff a Cadet would have.
[editline]04:24PM[/editline]
Just checked one of my Sister's cameras, she doesn't have it on there so I have to check the others. I know I have one because I wanted her to take a picture of my Platoon Leader Cord and such.
I play with like 10 guys in the CF, they don't give a damn if you wear their patches.
Okay, well, I gotta wait for my Sister to get home because I don't know where those pictures are. I found alot of things, but none of them were what I was looking for.
[editline]04:46PM[/editline]
So, while we wait you can ask me anything regarding JROTC if it gives you solace.

Woo woo, JROTC.
12th Brigade Cougar Battalion. I was the Company Commander for Charlie my Sophmore year and got to Captain rank. Unfortunately I pulled a dumb prank and now I got demoted to 1st. Lt.
Oh well, my name's Dann so it's fun when people call me Lt. Dann like from Forrest Gump...
I'd salute you if I could...I'll get a picture of my in my ACU when I wake up.
Our JROTC is kind of dull compared to yours, but it worked I guess.
I'm a Master Sergeant and I don't have a job so I just sort of float around and do whatever. Last year was the the Platoon Sergeant for Alpha, but I hated to tell people to do things I couldn't do myself, so that was alot of shit they didn't learn, so I asked to resign, and after I quit they promoted me to Platoon Leader. Considering the dip-shit I replaced it may have been the only logical choice for them to do. But it doesn't make all that much sense. "I quit. You're promoted."
Also, ours is the 'Warrior Battalion'
