I don't have a problem with black purely because I use helmet covers so if I need black it's there. (I have problems finding black covers)

Enjoy the patch(es). :3:
Gonna grab a couple of the BSAA ones, but I dunno if I should get the North American branch or the Oceana one for my next loadout.

Look for the Metal Gear patches listed under video games. There's two MSF patches, one Philanthropy.
YESSSSSS
Marry me. This site has everything PLUS free international shipping.
Also regarding the vest previously posted: OD works better than black in every occasion unless you either plan to play in a planetarium or be a member of an SG team.

I think it's that time again.

Meh.
Well for a 2009-2010-ish ACU loadout, a MICH 2002 would not work b/c, the cut around the ear design wouldn't work well enough with a cover, it was designed for SF units, using Peltor ComTacs, the big headsets. And it's not SOP w/ infantry troops.
You still need a MICH 2000, but with an SDS Foliage Green updated chinstrap/suspension. The cover would still be a regular ACU cover, I suggest some foliage green goggle straps.
Now the expensive bit, the IOTV. Just get Pantac's. And use the SDS ACU mag pouches, then go on RedWolf and the 'Promedic pouch' is a replica of the newer IFAK issued to the US Army.
Gloves used are most commonly Sage Green flight gloves, Oakley SI Assault gloves, Hatch flight gloves. Mostly nomex/hard knuckled/mechanic's gloves.
Again, the ACU uniform is still worn, with the exception of the ACS. (Army Combat Shirt).
Kneepads would be either ACU Bijan's or Alta's.
Boots would stay desert tan boots.
I figured this all out at 1:41 in the morning watching 'Shaun of the Dead'.
What am I doing...
All I need to worry about is the MICH.
So MICH 2000 with ACU cover, correct?

Would work, as for the cover, I can get them from Amazon I believe.
Do not understand the hate on black.
Like said before, it doesn't blend in any environment, and the only reason the police wear it is for intimidation.
But hey, if you like black tac-gear, then go for it. My opinion is just that.
Yeah and I found out tonight that black clothes blend in just as good as BDU's seeing as it's dark in all. At least with the BDU's with a flashlight passes over they will have a hard time noticing you.
Yeah, there's no real reason (besides intimidation) to wear black over camouflage, even at night. If the camouflage matches in the light, it'll match even better at night.
No. Just no.
But I like that one :saddowns:
I wear almost entirely black because the sites I play at do night games or have almost pitch black parts, and people wearing other camo stand out enough anyway so it doesn't make a difference.

The correct cover would have the IR Tabs like on the uniform. But any ACU MICH cover would work.
The cover should look like this:

The suspension should look like this:

Anyway, my LWH should come either tomorrow or Tuesday.

The tabs or "Cat Eyes" are separate from the helmet. A cover, and the IR tabs are two different things.

Did you click the link? You'll see what mean.
I got my LWH in the mail today. My one issue with it was no NVG mount. The guy who sold it to me lost it when he switched the ruined reversible cover with the other MARPAT one.
But I'm overall happy. He said he's going to send something else to make up for it. I have no idea what.
I'll give a small first looks review:
The kevlar shell is OD green, it has that rough surface most helmets have. The suspension and pads are slightly worn out (It's a used helmet), but the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor is still visible on the nape pad. It's got leather on the nape pad, chinstrap, and the area near the buckles/ears. It's really comfortable.
The box had the following items:
-OD LWH (Kevlar Shell, pads, and 4 point suspension)
-Desert MARPAT One-Sided Helmet Cover (Not the chinaman one)
-CB Neck Gaitor
-CB Cat Eyes band
If you find one for $150 or lower, I recommend that you get it.
Now that's what I thought. I was pretty sure all Marines would use an M4, minus if they were a specialized role like a designated marksman, support, a sniper, etc.
Marines replace their M16's with as many M4's that the Army hands down to them.
Designated Marksmen would usually have a SAM-R or M14 DMR and an M9.
Support? You mean like a machine gunner? They would usually carry an M249 and an M9.
A sniper isn't commonly seen in direct confrontation. They usually move in
teams and the spotter is going to have either an M16 or M4 with the RCO, and is going to carry the sniper's M4 or M16. The sniper will have the M40A3. I'm not totally sure about this one though, I'm not one for snipers.

Snipers generally use M40 or the M21 (M14 but DMR)

The sniper and spotter switch off in roles whenever they feel like they want to. They usually carry an M24 and an M9. The spotter doesn't carry a rifle. They never split up and they always haul ass to another location after every shot.
The spotter doesn't carry a rifle.
The spotter does carry an M4 most of the time actually. I don't believe they switch off with any degree of frequency either.

I'm going by SAS snipers so my knowledge is limited with US snipers. I just assumed it was the same.
I don't believe that snipers/spotters switch roles, in the Marines it's usually the most experienced Marine as the spotter, he does the range calculations and such.
Snipers generally use M40 or the M21 (M14 but DMR)
There's a difference between snipers and DM's. Snipers usually work at longer distances, DM's are usually embedded with squads. DM's use the semi-automatic rifles (M14 DMR, SAM-R), and the snipers will use more accurate bolt-action rifles (M40A3).
And just for a quick differential:
M21:

USMC DMR:

I always though British sniper teams carried either a sniper rifle and an L85 for the spotter, or two sniper rifles.

I watched some History Channel special about the SAS a few days ago. They said that.
History Channel is the shit.
Picking up some Tan ESS NVG Profiles soon.
Why the hell do replica NVG and NVG mounts cost so fucking much? Do they actually work, is that why? I always assumed they were fake, completely fake, made to look real. Why do fake NVG's cost $200+
Because the real deal good ones cost 5,000+
Yeah but the ones I've been looking at don't even work. They're plastic molds that look like NVG's and the better ones magnify in daylight but don't work. The fake mounts alone are $20+ which I don't understand myself.
Yeah that sounds like night enhancing goggles which are kinda shitty. inferred ones are the ones that light up anything and for the cheaper ones they don't see that far or that bright. As for real deal mounts they have it and you need it so why not charge it.
I'd just want a mount for my new MICH for looks, at the most a cheap-fake pair of goggles for it but the price for what is basically a display piece is too much for me.
