Hell yeah.
FIST PUMPIN' LIKE CHAMPS.
Anyone have suggestions for how to improve my loadout from here?
Get black boots.
Ditch the plate carrier, buy combat suspenders for a HIGH SPEED and LOW DRAG loadout. (only kind of joking)
Also
Flecktarn is always a sexy time.
hmm...
After my M16 should I get a M14 ??
[editline]5th December 2010[/editline]
only problem is i'd have to like
harden the fuck up because i could hardly carry my friend's cyma socom m14
"Condor Softshells" I believe they are called.
I see...might try to get one.
Get black boots.
No.
Tan works fine. It's sexy-looking and goes with everything.
Ditch the plate carrier
This thing is $90, not counting all the pouches ect., so it ain't going anywhere. If anything, I would get a different plate carrier (and probably a smaller one).

I realize you're sort of joking, but...no. Not now. I'm going to spend my money on something a little more useful first (already have a chest rig. Not going to buy a third vest to be "different" over practicality when my funds are tight).
Flecktarn is always a sexy time.
No. Flecktarn is not sexy time.
Flecktarn is BB magnet time. I'll stick out like a sore thumb everywhere, including the staging area, because literally nobody here (that I've seen/remember) uses it. Even if it blends into the field I'm at, they'll still notice somehow just because it's so different.
Eh...
your logic on flecktarn is flawed

Durr nobody else here uses it so it won't work.
:downs:
I didn't say that. You missed the joke.
A++. Would write again.

That was a ridiculously subtle joke that failed massively in text.
Seriously though, just by looking at the field from those few pictures, flecktarn doesn't seem like it would be too effective.
It probably wouldn't.
The Germans didn't come up with their modern camo with California in mind.
your dumb and know no thing about ... cAMOUflage with theRIGHT MIND in has left hand you FUCKER

you're shit at being funny.
I really wish I could get a rig like I have only with a little more MOLLE space and possibly something on the back you could mount hydration carriers and the like too.

What kind of rig do you run now Code?
CADPAT maybe? Seems very green there. You're probably fine just with M81, unless you're dissatisfied with it being the noob camo.
[editline]5th December 2010[/editline]
At Jenkem.

Agrees.
Many of them.

Condor MOD Vest.
I want something like the BLACKHAWK! S.T.R.I.K.E Commando Recon Chest Harness. But they don't make them in ACU.

The STRIKE rig isnt going to have much (if any) more MOLLE room than the RRV you have now.
The next step up chest rig wise I could think of would be a Tactical tailor MAV with the bib and the X harness. That would feel a lot like your RRV, but have a little more MOLLE space since its wider, but would still retain the bib, and with the X-harness, would add room for a hydration carrier. Main problem is that TT stuff is top of the line so its kind of expensive.

MAV rig:

Bib (AKA: that little flap where your admin pouch goes):

X-harness:

[editline]5th December 2010[/editline]
Upon further review, it says that the X-harness doesnt work well with the Bib, so you would have to either give up the little space for your admin pouch or give up hydration.
[editline]5th December 2010[/editline]
Also comes in ICU so thats helpful for your loadout.
I'll probably get it then.
that vest is like modern americanski chicom vest
CADPAT maybe? Seems very green there.
It is. CADPAT might work fine, but I'm not a fan of digital. I may get ACU some day, but not because I'd want it for it's (nonexistent) camouflaging properties.
You're probably fine just with M81, unless you're dissatisfied with it being the noob camo.
It's not that "noob." Some very experienced locals use it (including the leader of a very good team, KEA).
I'm eyeing Multicam. I saw it in action there yesterday, and it matches the terrain better than M81 (which is way too dark and sticks out more against the lighter greens that were more prevalent).

There's a local airsofter who has his own tactical gear business. He has a good number of customers, many of them overseas, and he field tests his stuff quite a lot at airsoft games.
He's currently using his own self-built chest rig.

It is the "noob" camo. People that aren't new players still use it though, as it's an excellent camouflage in a lot of places (apparently, wouldn't know in 0.0001% humidity California).
Yeah you can't really deny that it's noob camo. I see new players wearing the stuff all the time.
Maybe the noobs are smarter than they look. I mean, ACU is the modern US army stuff (and it's digital, ++ extra cool points), but it would be absolutely useless out here (and woodland DOES work better than many others types for a lot of the local fields). The only guy I saw wearing full ACU on Saturday stuck out badly and was just begging to be shot by everyone.
What isn't noob camo? Multicam? Don't make me laugh. That's more used than the average high school cheerleader...also, some people strut it around like it's some kind of badge of honor. Disgusting, and also a noob thing to do. Nobody does that with their M81 as far as I can tell.

If we had sigs on facepunch that would be mine
+1 zing
I don't understand how anyone can use Multicam. I may have, but the one huge reason I never took the leap was the price. Who in their right fucking minds would pay an extra $30-$40 in trademarks?
The way I see it, the only camo readily available for Tac-Gear and such are ACU, MARPAT, Multi-Cam and M81. Everything else is bordering on obscure. You can't get gear in MARPAT, but CB/Tan/Khaki works just fine with it.

Its the noob camo because it costs next to nothing, and is ridiculously common and easy to come by. And due to those factors, most noobs wear it, and it has become the standard "my first camo pattern".

This is for medicman, I think this is what he wanted.
[editline]6th December 2010[/editline]
When I start on my loadout, I'm either going to start with plain old OD BDUs or Tiger Stripe.
I'm going to be wearing BDU pants and a black tee most likely. I wanna keep light.
[editline]6th December 2010[/editline]
And jungle boots, can't forget those.
Guys, there is no "noob" camo, all camouflage patterns are designed to keep you concealed, just because a lot of new people wear it because its readily available doesn't mean its nooby. Do you think Armies are nooby because loads of the people enlisted in them wear the same camo? Get over it. Camo is camo and that's that.
